2010 NFL Draft (Mocks, Eval, etc)

Iowa football: Spievey will pass up senior year, enter NFL draft
By ANDREW LOGUE ? [email protected] ? January 11, 2010

Iowa cornerback Amari Spievey has decided to pass up his senior season of football and enter the NFL draft.

?I believe I can compete very highly in the NFL,? Spievey said today in a phone interview. ?I wish the Hawkeyes good luck. It?s nothing against them. I?m going to miss them like crazy.

?I love them as my brothers, but I need to move on.?

Spievey was the Hawkeyes? top coverage specialist during a season that resulted in an 11-2 record and a final No. 7 ranking.

My thoughts are that Oklahoma appears to got hit the hardest (4 players), Yeah I know Florida is losing 4 too, but Bradford and McCoy are really going to be hard to replace.
Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
Jermaine Gresham, Oklahoma
Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma
Dominique Franks, Oklahoma

This draft is going to be preposterously deep. I know there are compensation changes afoot after this draft, but it seems like a lot of guys are going to go much lower than perhaps they expect.

For people who have watched a lot of Bama this season, just how good is McClain? Is he similar to Rey Maualuga in that he just goes 100 MPH at the ball and it either works or it doesn't or is he similar to Willis (In my eyes the best LB in the league) in that he can read the play? Greenies for any help.

More like Maualuga, but bigger. Will have some agility problems in the league and is going to have to cut down on his 260 lb frame if he wants to stay in on passing situations.

And you are right; Willis is the best linebacker in the league.

Keep in mind he is an ILB on a 3-4 defense, I wouldnt want him cutting too much weight myself. Maybe 250. That said he appears to be very instinctive and from what I believe pretty disciplined - that alone can make up for not having wheels.

I remember watching some kind of special on ESPN about him before the NCG. He seemed to be the QB of their defense, and since Bama plays a 3-4, he may be able to grasp an NFL 3-4 pretty quickly. I'm hoping the Browns have a shot at him.

and I am hoping with you if Haden is not sitting there at the seventh pick. This class is very thin when it comes to CBs.

Good news for the Browns! They can feel comfortable trading down 5 times and still getting value!

I've heard him decribed as by one analyst as, Nick Saban out on the field but 6' 4'', 260 lbs.
