2010 Heisman Trophy Discussion

Cam Newton has a huge lead, and Justin Blackmon and Robert Griffin have entered the conversation.

However, Blackmon just got cited for a DUI returning from the Dallas game this morning. That won't help his case.

6 guys weigh in, and their points are 10-7-5-3-1, as opposed to the actual 3-2-1 on the Heisman ballots.

CBS

Other guys on the radar:

Kendall Hunter, Colin Kaepernick, Denard Robinson, Landry Jones

I would add Matt Barkley to the list of guys still on the radar. He has solid stats, and a chance to grab the spotlight against a shaky Oregon defense this week.

EMU, Marshall, Ohio. Heck, Minnesota and Indiana.

Let's not get too self-righteous here.

It's November. Preseason scrimmages should stay in September where they belong.

Auburn has long been a poster child for scheduling creampuff OOC games. They get no sympathy from me.

...and lumping Indiana in with the rest of those is a bit unfair. They're only a couple of TDs away from being 7-2 overall.

4 weeks and no posts in the Heisman thread. It's obvious who will win it Saturday, but the other finalists will be announced this evening.

I'm guessing that besides Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, LaMichael James, and Kellen Moore will get an invitation to NYC. Perhaps I'll do a vBet for 1-2-3-4 in the voting later in the week.

The ESPN ticker over the weekend ran their silly predictor thing (based on individual and team stats and the history of Heisman voting), which had Terrelle Pryor in 4th place. Why they bother to show that, when they haven't been displaying it all season, is a mystery to me.
