Maybe it's just me but, these links style courses don't look that interesting on TV.

Not at all....I think they are very boring....

Maybe very fun to play, but not to watch

Well, Daly is making yet another statement with his attire at the Open. Not quite sure what the statement is, but it just might contain one or two words from Carlin's list that you couldn't say on television.

12 strokes and 12 guys you've never heard of in front of him. Tiger's still in it, but Jack would put these guys away.

Naw, he is done. He would have to shot a 63 and the leader post a fat 75. Too many guys ahead of him.....unless they all start making mental mistakes...Come to think of it, today's golfer doesn't have the course management of the guy's from yesteryear...some maybe Cinci is not so wrong after all...

That is kind of what happened at the US Open. Tiger played par golf and the field came back to him.

5 years ago and he's up going into the final Round and likely has already won the Masters and the US Open already.

ESPN's "Presentation" of the Open is just horrendous. While they have a solid team in the booth and Tirico and VanPelt are doing a great job with the hosting, the actual golf coverage is just pathetic. The last segment included "0" minutes of actual live play coverage....

Tuned in yesterday -- Tivo/ABC/ESPN said it was beginning it's coverage at 3 -- then at 3 they threw on some bullshit infomercial/testimony about a has been jock, and ran a trailer across the bottom of the screen stating that coverage would begin as soon as round 3 finished -- which meant that they must have thought that I believed there were still golfers on the course at nine PM Greenwich Time Zone. When they finally got to the coverage it lasted about an hour and consisted mostly of an interview with Osterheizernozzelpflaumeninger and Lefty hitting a bucket of balls at the driving range.

Junior Achievement does the British Open.

Question for Steve19 - our resident S. Africa expert.

Where did Oosthezien play his golf in SA? One of the things I learned about the country during the World Cup was that the country (while not terribly big) has numerous different types of topography and various landscapes.

Curious if most of the best players come from a certain part of the country.

If I ever made a trip there - I'd bring my sticks and try to play Durban! Look at this place:

Personally, I've been enjoying watching Fieldanyothergolfernotlistedabove dominate the last 3 days of the Open. Love stuff like Boise State's Bowl victory, Cinderella teams in March Madness, etc. I don't care if Tiger ever pulls his act back together or not. Tons of very young golfers out there happy to fill the void.

:tongue2: and we probably will never hear from Fieldanyothergolfernotlistedabove again. Just like the French man vanderxgzmbtcx who blew the British Open on the final hole a few years back.

Now March Madness is an entirely different animal:)
