well if it came from RR, I believe it.

I'm sure you still wouldn't believe it even if you were looking at the scale yourself. Either way, whose mouth is it supposed to come from? Would you rather JT took a trip up north to confirm this report? Is it really that hard to believe an 18-19 year old kid can put on 15 lbs in 6 months?

College listed measurables are not exactly trustworthy, particularly when communicated quite intentionally at camp and now at a press conference.

Most UM fans that saw him at practice thought he looked about 165, not the 180 that UM reported.

It's harder for me to believe that a Marinovich disciple didn't do any weight training, not even in the 6 months between his verbal and enrollment.

I think he may have put on 10 lbs, but I think it was being tacked on to a lower starting weight.

I remember reading an article that said Tate got sick and lost 10 lbs either before he got to AA, or right when he got there, can't remember which. Either way, it's good that he is progressing.

Sam was pretty well put together though. His problem was his upright running style.

That and the fact he was too small to play major DI football.

Point being last year he was the scUM fans poster child for what Barwis would do to bulk him up to and then what he would do to the rest of the poor slow B10 defenses. His speed and RR's offense blah blah blah blah.

Now its Tater Tot. Same problem, same summer time rationalizations, very likely same fall outcome. I'll bet money right now he doesn't make it through all 12 games.

So let's see. +15 since arriving but -10 prior to arrival = 5 pounds more than High School. I could buy 5 pounds gain over the summer over nominal weight.

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics; it's what make snake oil salesmen tick.

Yes. I only listen to things that come from somebody related to Ohio State. Fuck my eyes. Who gives a shit if his arms are thinner than pencils. I need an Ohio State coach to verify things before I believe them because I'm a stupid groupie.

No wait.....that describes the typical Michigan message boarder.

I'm pretty sure that 10 lbs was from not eating/throwing up/being dehydrated. That being the case, usually within a couple days to a week, you've gained that back.

and you are still a small person getting ready to play a large persons game. But like I said, this is an exact replay of the discussions regarding McHoppy last year.

I'm waiting to hear back if any scUM fan feels so strongly about Tater Tots new found size that they will lay down real money to bet me he will stay healthy for all 12 games. I am willing to bet any amount anyone is comfortable with he will not.

Staying healthy for an entire 12 games is extremely rare. Everyone gets dinged up from time to time. Hell, as big as Pryor is, didn't he get hurt last year? His shoulder or something? Henne was a big kid and he got hurt. Sometimes, it's as simple as a toe injury, as was the case with Beanie. I might be interested in your bet, but what are the guidelines for "staying healthy"? Since this is a size issue with you, would the injury have to be a direct result of Tate's lack of muscle? Or is it ANY injury? A broken leg can happen to anyone, regardless of size.

It is rare. Especially if you're tiny. That's kind of the point.

Beanie's injury was a fluke in that occured while pushing off his foot. Pryor's injury may or may not have been the result of contact. But in neither case did size factor in. However, McGuffie's early departure from The Game was a direct result of his getting his small ass nuclear-detonated by two guys 30-40 pounds heavier than him.
