2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

dude. that's cooper right there. except cooper could recruit
Exactlywhat I thought too.

Found this tidbit in the same article:
As far as the importance of this week, the seniors were planning a meeting for later this afternoon, spurred by defensive end Brandon Graham and offensive lineman Mark Ortmann.
It will be the first non-coach team meeting this season, Ortmann said, and was spurred by Rodriguez?s postgame locker-room address to the team at Wisconsin.

You've lost every Big Ten game but Indiana and now you think its time for a players only?

Michael Wilbon has apparently said he has it from a very good source that both Charlie the Hut (duh) and DickRod are both out at the end of this season. Today, more baaaad information has come out regarding missing practice audit logs from the entire 2008 season are missing. Could there be a corralation? Who knows. Everything is speculation at this point.

I have no inside info, no links, but dickrod seems more vulnerable now than ever. If tOSU wins in a whitewash, it may be time to revive this bad boy:

The interesting point is the the TSUN university administration is taking pains to point out that the audit did not find a violation but that does not mean that anything is wrong. All that support must make RichRod feel a strong breeze pulling him toward the exit.

that's what first came to my mind. it's not bad that this is out.....it's that it's out the week of the biggest game of the year. somebody has to be feeding this stuff to the media and I think it's safe to assume the timing isn't a coincidence.

Piling all this on top of a man that looks like he really struggles to handle pressure could lead to an absolutely glorious game on Saturday...for us. All these distractions? Geeze. They just ran footage of his Monday presser on e!spn and he looks like a totally defeated man.

Former U-M kicker Gillette: 'Hype for the game is gone ... it?s a foregone conclusion'

Former Michigan football players apparently continue to voice their frustration about the program?s direction. On Monday, someone claiming to be former U-M kicker Mike Gillette (1985-88) called the Sean & Terp show with Ryan Terpstra and Sean Baligian on ESPN Radio 96.1 in Grand Rapids. Apparently, Gillette was just listening to the station and wanted to be heard.

The recording is available on a podcast at www.radiox961.com. Below is a transcript of Gillette?s portion of the conversation.

Putting it together

Monday on Tony Kornheiser's radio show, Wilbon pronounced Rodriguez done at Michigan -- and Charlie Weis the same at Notre Dame.

"I had a solo conversation with someone who is affiliated with the current coach at Michigan, and he does not believe for a second that he'll be back," Wilbon said.

When Kornheiser said a coach with Rodriguez's r?sum? surely should get another year to right the program, Wilbon stuck by his source.

"I was stunned by this conversation, which was Saturday, an hour-and-a-half after that (Wisconsin) game," Wilbon said. "And he says that he would bet me right now -- took his wallet out and threw it down -- that this is not going to happen.

"I'll just tell you, this guy played for Rich Rod."

yesterday, I joked about this:

Seniors Graham and Mark Ortmann planned to call a players-only team meeting Monday afternoon. Ortmann said it's the first of its kind this season and was spurred by Rodriguez's address to the team after Saturday's Wisconsin loss.

But... Paired with the Wilbon report, the " was spurred by Rodriguez's address to the team after Saturday's Wisconsin loss." has a different meaning for me.

Just speculating, but maybe Ortmann and company come out wearing RichRod headbands, if you know what I mean.

I really don't and am evidently pretty dumb. Are you saying Wilbon got his info from one of those current players?

The head band remark contemplates the Buckeyes wearing "Earle" headbands after Bruce was fired prior to the Michigan game.

I don't know who Wilbon talked to. I just find it interesting that he gets this info, assuming it's good info, right after the Wiscy game and Ortmann and Graham are quoted as saying their players only meeting is born of RichRod's post game comments.

Originally, I thought it was just a typical "Tough loss today, but we need to get ready for Ohio State... bla bla bla" and Ortmann and Graham decided to "step up"

But, now I wonder if RichRod said something like, "Well, that's it for me, folks. Ohio State will be my last game, assuming we don't go to a bowl"

I'm merely speculating. I just found the commentary interesting when placed in the same context. It could be nothing.

So the person who told Wilbon that RR is gone is affiliated with RR, and played for him? That shouldn't be too hard to narrow it down, should it?

Michigan's QB coach, Rod Smith, played for RRod back in the mid/late 90s at Glenville St. Worked under RRod at Clemson and WVU.

At first blush I'm obviously sad and concerned about the possibility of losing the scromatic advantage and Dick Rod in the same year, that just can't be a good thing.

Logic would seem to dictate those two institutions, so full of clown ass, couldn't possibly do any worse in their next hire. But then a single phrase pops in my head..."could they?"

These doucebagical institutions hired these two douchebags in the first place. ND has mangled, and I mean MANGLED, every coaching hire since the Lisper left. Why should it be a given they are all of a sudden going to get it right this time?

scUM hasn't had to go through as many hires because of the residual effects of the program stability Bo built. That's gone now and while its a small sample size they are officially 0-1 in the coaching hire department and I think its safe to say that 1 was a pretty impressive swing and miss. Whats to say they don't go on a ND like run of coaching fiasco's? They have had to go outside the program and get a coach twice now since 1967. One was a spectacular success, one was a massive failure.

I know the common thought is one of them will get Brian Kelly and he's going to be good. Hard to argue that but then again, lets just wait and see. Could these two superpowers of suck somehow combine all that negative karma into one colossal fuck up and neither one of them end up with Kelly? Not likely but stranger shit has happened.

Bottom line to me is while it will indeed be a sad, sad day if we lose both Cheeseburger Charlie and his snake oil peddling doppelganger we may just be treated to another thoroughly entertaining coaching search that will most closely resemble two drowning men that everyone hates fighting for 1 life jacket.
