we keep saying our offense is better but in reality we average less points against Big Ten opponents, just 19 more yards, and we have one less win....i didn't realize beating directional schools and delaware state made this offense look so good....this is a bit disheartening when considering how the D is and our offense hasn't improved against the teams it counts against.

Oh, but it does matter: your defense is appreciably worse than last year. If you don't have offensive improvement to hang your hat on, you're left staring right at the fact that RR has taken a team that won a major bowl against a good team and, for two consecutive years, managed to get worse. Yes yes bare cupboard etc. But let's be honest here: this team is not improving under RR.
