2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

Somebody over on Stadium & Main claiming e!spn has reported that shoelace will start this week vs. Purdue. Kind of odd considering there haven't been any rumblings to this effect. Anybody else hear this? If true, I put the over/under on turnovers at five...

I don't know if this is considered news or not and I haven't seen it posted, so forgive me if it has, but I thought this was funny as hell. On ESPN, They do an article called the bottom 10, for the 10 worst teams in college football. Scum fans now have a reason to cheer that they are ranked 5th......worst in the nation.

Michigan Wolverines and Rich Rodriguez among teams livin' on a prayer - ESPN

5. Michigan 5-4 "Who Says You Can't Go Home": Wolverines coach Rich Rodriguez could use some support after his team's 1-4 slide. We're guessing he won't get much sympathy in West Virginia.

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more...last fall's season long debacle, or this year's raised early expectations following a 4-0 start crushed by a groundswell of reality.

I know for sure which one I like, which is why they get crushed by the Buckeyes every year after coming into the game undefeated and ranked #2 behind the Buckeyes, in my ideal world.

Theory: you can create the Higgs boson by combining three things: Rich Rodriguez, a Michigan windbreaker, and a bowl game.

Was just looking over the scUM roster, they have 50 players enrolled in the division of Kiniesiology and another 15-20 undeclared. I'd conservatively estimate 55-60% of their scholorship players are enrolled in that school. Yeah, that team GPA is quite an accomplishment.

[michigan douchebag] but all schools do it! [/michigan douchebag]

which of course ignores the fact that they are one of the few schools that are arrogant assholes about their 'academics'

Hmmm, so Kurt Coleman's overzealous hit results in a game suspension, but Ortmann jabbing a player in the gonads gets a pass. Comical.

This is funny on so many levels.

Actually it has earned Ortmann to be this week's captain.

In addition, head coach Rich Rodriguez announced the game captains for the game at Purdue: linebacker Stevie Brown, defensive end Tim North, left tackle Mark Ortmann and slot receiver Ricky Reyes.

As the captains go, I wondered earlier today if Ortmann would be named a game captain to spite the people who said he should be suspended. Not sure if that's the motivation, but the senior is indeed a captain.

Where's Seinfeld when you need him!?

Rich Rodriguez: Well, I want to make him a captain out of spite and she asked me why and I said for spite and now she won?t let me.
Jim Delaney (Big Ten Commish): That?s true. You can?t make someone a captain based purely on spite.
Rich: Well, so fine then . . . then he's played really good and then that?s why I?m making him captain.
Jim: Well you already said spite, so?
