2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

They also wouldn't have had the Heisman Trophy winner acting like he was already the first pick in the draft....

oh wait.....we can't talk about that because it takes away from the OMG AWESOMEness of Florida that year.

OMG is so northern. Down here its the Oh My Tim AWSOMNESS of UF.

BTW, Jorts nation has made a Tshirt of the promise speech by Him with the tag line "promises kept". :roll2:

Thought I'd share that in case any potential bulimics out there were having trouble making themselves puke.

The offseason, filled with traffic driving articles. Any dolt off the street could tell you that there were at least two dozen teams (most without anywhere near as much talent) that would have put up a tougher fight that night. That was more than Moss vs Boone, or Tebow vs Laurinaitis. OSU's team never took the field again after beating michigan. They deserved what they got.

The one thing UM would have done would be not to abandon the run. Pittman ran well but didn't get the rock, opting instead to keep setting up their undersized pass rushers. UM would not have made that mistake (whoever thought Tressel would abandon the run like that? Bizarre night)

Feldman appears to be one of many who believes UM beat a similar team to the one that smoked OSU... as seen by his comment about florida's rush ends. Jake Long is a stud who did admirably vs Derrick Harvey. That doesn't address who handles Jarvis Moss, who was not a participant in the 07 game, along with most of that defense.

I'd agree that both Florida 2006 team and LSU 2007 teams were very mediocre as far as championship teams go. Those teams were very lucky to make the championship game in the first place. Of course that doesn't reflect well on us but I believe that is the truth.

I'm sorry, I'm confused as to what happened to Michigan's opponent in the Rose Bowl. I thought they were supposed to play Ohio State in the MNC.

Florida was lucky to be in the game after the choke of all chokes (tied with WVU) of USC 9 UCLA 13. It should have been OSU USC MNC and Michigan Florida in the Rose Bowl. FLA would have lost just like they did in 2007.

That certainly would have been an interesting matchup. Honestly, I would have loved to see a rematch UM vs. OSU in the MNC. Unfortunately for UM, OSU made more plays/less mistakes.

I'll buy the "more plays" part, but not the "less mistakes". OSU committed 3 turnovers (one at their own 25, another at their own 9) to none for UM and was nailed with several big penalties that kept drives alive for Michigan. OSU out-gained UM 503-397.

It's not often you win games with a -3 turnover margin.

Second that. No offense to tsun fans (don't really care if it does offend to be honest) unforced TO's and questionable penalties kept that game much closer than it needed to be.

Ultimately the answer to this debate will be where it always is.

Maybe Rich Rodriguez will return UM to its place of prominence in college football.

Maybe Barack Obama's policies will return our nation to prosperity.

Maybe my continued wooing of Angelina Jolie will result in a happy ending for Angie and me.

Now, that's not very nice. Funny, probably. Accurate, without any doubt. But not nice.
