Hey, they have to grasp at something. Strange that you don't see any of us calling anyof our guys the next Bike Hart or the next Chad Henne or the next Morgan Trent...TheIronColonel;1448105; said:Hopkins reminds me of a slower, less physical Beanie. He changes directions well (which Beanie never did exceptionally well), but he doesn't show the physical burst or speed that Beanie had.
So, he's like Beanie in that 1) he's a running back and 2) he's big. Otherwise, not so much.

Absolutely, I just revel in watching you guys do it after living through the John F. Cooper days.goblue15;1448152; said:Hey, all fans do it... I remember when you guys were pumping Chris Gamble up as the next Charles Woodson.
3 way players aren't exactly a crowded profession.goblue15;1448152; said:Hey, all fans do it... I remember when you guys were pumping Chris Gamble up as the next Charles Woodson.
Yeah, he was just a scrub who shut down Andre Johnson and outscored the osu offense as a CB vs psu.goblue15;1448152; said:Hey, all fans do it... I remember when you guys were pumping Chris Gamble up as the next Charles Woodson.
Sportsbuck28;1445809; said:That whole "He will adapt his playcalling to the personel" excuse went out the window when Threet was running the read option 10 times a game.
I love how you say he adapted to his players within his system while basically ignoring what I said about him running Threet (Who is slow as mollasses) on the read option.blueinfla;1448179; said:I never said he would adapt to his players by completely dumping his system to run a pro-set because he had a pro-style qb. I said he would adapt to his players WITHIN HIS SYSTEM. RR did show that last year. Sheridan was a rollout type QB, that threw better on the run than he did in the pocket. So, RR called a lot of rollout plays for him. The Minnesota game is a perfect example of that. Threet, on the otherhand, was more of a pocket-passer, if he could be classified as either. So, for him, there were more plays where Threet didn't have to be athletic to make a play.
Also, it is my belief, that had RR not run his offense, the offense for this year would be further behind that it is right now. The familiarity with the schemes from everyone are helping Tate move along. The tempo and enthusiasm is completely different right now than at this point last year. I think this offense is going to suprise a lot of people. I'm not going to be surprised if you guys don't think so...
