So, did you read the post you quoted or not?

Again, I found it funny that you were not concerned about what I (and probably many others) consider a problem, and your fired coach and current coach both have it in common.

Not saying it would have directly resulted in better success, but it certainly wouldn't have hurt to not let your biggest rival get Vernon Gholston, for example.

EDIT: Vern was a beast btw.

I got it.....I was just being a smartass. I already stated it was a problem earlier. It is RR's first year, kind of hard to judge him in the state after a year. He has to have time to build relationships. If this happens years down the road......then criticize away.

Haha, alright then. Hard to detect smart ass comments online sometimes. :tongue2:

I wonder how many of them watched his performance in the Army AA game. Maybe we should also point out to them that fellow Ohioan (and Buckeye commit) Jamie Wood is rated higher at safety (#2 nationally) than is Turner (#3) by Rivals.
Not any more.

Wood took a big hit on the rankings when the postseason 250 came out. Turner's a good 40-some spots ahead.

Um, U.S. Army All-American East Roster. Check the rankings for Wood (No. 2 S (No. 29 Rivals100)) and Turner (No. 3 S (No. 63 Rivals100)). That's where I got my info. Now, if spots have changed in the last day or two, then so be it. Bottom line is Turner isn't the best player in Ohio as earlier claimed and he got beat more than once against top-flight competition at the AA game.

Michigan fans who really think Turner is all that are the same dipshits who still think Morgan Trent is a great corner...

guess I should quote more posts above... I think Wood was somewhat fortunate to stick at #4, actually.

p.s. There's absolutely no comparison between Morgan Trent and JT Turner, regardless of UM fan silliness. They gave up that Trent nonsense by mid-september, though some still misconstrue 07 - when teams attacked the freshman Warren - as a good year for MT. Of course, he did have his one shining moment vs Harvin, depending on what year system you're using :p

A better comparison might be Donovan Warren, who arrived with tremendous talent but is struggling to live up to that billing. Personally, I think Turner is a more complete player than Warren, especially physically, but the similar lofty expectations will give him a small margin for error.

these are the rankings that Michigan fans never slam for being biased when a Michigan kid drops.....right? I'm sure all the "TURNER IS #1 IN OHIO IS A FACT!!!!!!!!!" posts from them have nothing to do with their desire to have some kind of win over Ohio State....no matter how minor (or misguided).

So the fate of Rods job is Forcier?
I think so. Devin Gardner has excellent potential but is unlikely to be very effective as a starter in 2010.

If Tate can't get it done, UM is looking at another bad season in a row. The encore? Coming to Columbus for Pryor's 3rd season as a starter.

Tate may get it done, but that's a lot of weight to put on Tate's slender shoulders.

Based on the number of offers, it doesn't seem like RR's spending the kind of time to build relationships in state. Instead it looks like he's focusing elsewhere (Florida and SEC country). And little brother has been taking full advantage...

There's really only a few players we didn't offer. Of all the really worthwhile players in Michigan, the only one that didn't get a Michigan offer and that there isn't some kind of logical explanation that I know of (i.e. drop-back quarterback like Andrew Maxwell) is James Jackson.

So, you gave out a load of in-state offers and yet only got four commitments (Campbell, C. Gordon, T. Gordon, and Jones)? MSU has 11 of 19 commits from in-state, including three four-star players who also had offers from Michigan: Edwin Baker (RB), Larry Caper (RB), Dion Sims (TE).

Over Xmas this was a subject of discussion while watching the bowl games. We tried to remember when the Spartans flat out-recruited TSUN in-state to this degree.

The closest we could get was when MSU was having their real strong years, and TSUN it's poorest years, which means in the years before Bo.

Now, since those days TSUN has swelled their Out of State class proportions. But, one aspect of that isn't now working well for them - gleaning recruits in quantity from the State of Ohio. Their ability to pull in high quality recruits from other states is open to doubt under RR.

While I don't see TSUN being as lowly as they were before Bo, the signs are not presently good. Competition from MSU in-state, an Ohio which isn't as rich a ground for TSUN bound talent (in numbrs MSU is doing better) and unproven OOS recruiting in their traditional OOS targets (FL, CA, TX).

Switch Chris Norman (LB) with Caper.

IMO Jackson wouldn't have been too good in RR's system... Too small to block, I'd think

True. MSU has gotten more recruits from MI. But my point is, whatever the recruiting situation is in MI, it's a lot closer to the Wolverine party line (RR probably barely set foot in the state while recruiting at WV, is a couple years behind in building the relationships in the state, and it's not really surprising that Dantonio would out-recruit him in his first full year) than the other one (RR's not even bothering.) RR is bothering, and cherry-picking other states besides, and it's still a better class than Dantonio's. FWIW, both RR and Dantonio have offered 4 MI players for 2010, 3 of which are the same, so that competition is already on.

And besides, Dantonio's class includes just two players from outside MI and OH - the same was true last year. That'll only take you so far. I definitely prefer RR's strategy, and I think in a year or two we'll see that MSU's edge instate is gone.
