2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

Oh, I suffered mightily in 95 and 96. 95 in particular. After that loss, I remember my grandfather calling me and I could hear the pain in his voice: "Well, I guess we'll get them eventually." We both thought they'd win a National Championship that year (I still do think we would have had we not lost that game). My grandfather died a couple years later and didn't get to see the '02 Championship season. I hate Michigan just a little bit more for that.

Nevertheless, the guys you mentioned never lost 4 straight. Of the three players in this conversation, Mike Hart is the only one that can boast that honor. It suits him well.

He never beat OSU but he was a 3 star and had a good career. Give me a 3 star like that any day. He was on a Michigan team that went 0-4 against OSU. You can't say it was his fault in 06 when he scored 18 points. Just send a thank you card to Crable.

I don't post on GBW but I did stop over to see what kind of response my transplanted post was getting.

I have only one question for all the UM fans who are providing myriad excuses for why OSU is out-recruiting UM.

Are you, or are you not, Michigan?

Cause you sure sound like West by-gosh Virginia.

OSU usually will have a better class than Michigan because Ohio is one of the top 5 states to recruit in and OSU has it locked up. It's not hard to figure out.

I gotta hit this again.

The consensus on GBW seems to be that UM ranks below OSU because RR is recruiting players for his system - so they may not be the highest rated players at a given position.

Nice try. Now read the post.

Why did the top 6 RBs YOU offered say no?

Why did the top 9 WRs YOU offered say no?

Why did the top 4 OTs YOU offered say no?

Why did the top 5 safeties YOU offered say no?

Why did 10 of 11 CBs YOU offered say no?

Why did 6 of 7 LBs YOU offered say no?

Why did 11 of 16 DL YOU offered say no?

And why did at least 3 of the in-state players YOU offered say YES - to Michigan State?

Your spin.

UM has 4 commits from players ranked in the top 10 at their position.

OSU has 5 - from out of state.

Please spin again.

Or send a thank you card to the OSU team that stomped his ass. Michigan had the ball twice in the second half with a chance to take the lead. They went 3 and out both times. Crable didn't do that.

Well I disagree with the consensus on GBW. Why does USC, Florida, Texas, and OSU usually have the best classes in most years? They usually gobble up all the talent in those states and have more players to choose from. Most kids grow up buckeye fans in Ohio and most attend OSU.

Why did those kids say no? I will not assume anything but maybe they wanted to stay close to home, or wanted to play in a pro style offense, don't like playing in cold weather, the 3-9 record this past season caught their attention, Michigan didn't appeal to them, or many other reasons.

Maybe the 3 players wanted to play for Michigan State more or grew up Michigan State fans. There are alot of reasons why they probably chose State over Michigan.

Hart doesn't play defense and OSU torched the Michigan defense. Michigan's offense came to play and Hart smoked the OSU defense that night. OSU's offense won that game. Then again App State smoked Michigan's defense so is that really saying much?

They're scared of competition.

No wait...

They're scared of Barwis' conditioning regime during the off-season.

Are they from a neighbor state such as Pennsylvania or Kentucky? OSU does get talent all over the country......but most of your players come from Ohio or in the midwest.

Since we are on the topic why do you think OSU usually have better classes than Michigan?

Because Michigan sucks?

Oh, you were probably looking for a more-detailed answer than that. Nevermind.

(Also, don't mind me. I'm just that guy who shows up late to a brawl and starts kicking a guy who's already fighting three other people.)
