High School 2009 State Playoffs

Yepp, Marion-Franklin have made alot of noise.

That being said, it gets almost impossible for them. There hasn't been a more dominant team in all of the state than Winton-Woods so far in the playoffs. On top of that, if they won that they'd get Lake Catholic of Maple Heights, both are loaded. But hey, they got this far so who knows!

Glenville beat Solon on a blocked PAT in the 4th quarter to win 28-27.

Was at this game. What a great game.

As we all know, the Glenville Play makers have another gear. I know some posters here think Latwan Anderson is overrated. I'm not a scout by any means but Looks like the real deal to me.

Shane Wynn 3TDs looked great.

Christian Bryant didn't rack up any stats to speak of, but made a great hit to break up an impt. 3rd down pass. The most athletic play of the game (albeit ill advised) was probably, Bryant making a one handed catch of an errant snap that was going way over his head when he was punting. He skied for the ball grabbed it with one hand and fell to the ground at his own 4yd line. where Solon took over. probably should have let it go out of endzone for a safety.

Solon has a Junior named Chris Humphrey, looked like their best player. seemed like a solid div. 1 guy to me, if he gets a little bigger

Daryl Baldwin seemed to be in a ton of pain every time he came off the field. His ankle must still be pretty banged up. Played almost exclusively Defense.

Poor Solon kicker missed two FGs and had an XP blocked, and they lost by 1.

did it look like a mental hangover for glenville? the way glenville rolled thru iggy and the way solon struggled with mayfield makes me think the hangover was there.

but nonetheless, this was a game in the past that glenville just about always lost....but not this year. They have a whole lot of leadership. If they come focused, they will be state champs, but that's a big if.

Glenville Vs. Massillon next week for a trip to the title game

Are the title games still played at The Shoe?

I didn't really see it that way. Glenville was hitting on all cyliders early, and was up 28-7 at the half, and Solon shut them out in the 2nd half --they do have one of the best defenses in the state.
