2009 NFL Draft (Mocks, Evaluation, etc.)

PFT reported that Mathews' was refuted (it's more of a denial).. I'm going to hold judgment until it's confirmed by a better source.

ProFootballTalk.com - Report of Matthews Drug Test Refuted

If this is false I'm sure Clay Matthews Jr. would have one hell of a lawsuit. Even a whiff of controversy and it can cause these prospects millions of dollars. Especially, since this nfldraftbible story is now circulating on almost all of the NFL teams official and non-official boards.

I have to do a mock draft for a presentation this week.. so it'd be awesome if I could get feedback (again).

Best presentation ever? Yes. A presentation on the NFL draft. :banger:

1. Detroit Lions
- Matthew Stafford (QB, Georgia)
2. St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith (OT, Baylor)
3. Kansas City Chiefs - Aaron Curry (OLB, Wake Forest)
4. Seattle Seahawks - Mark Sanchez (QB, USC)
5. Cleveland Browns - Michael Crabtree (WR, Texas Tech)
6. Cincinnati Bengals - Eugene Monroe (OT, Virginia)
7. Oakland Raiders - Jeremy Maclin (WR, Missouri)
8. Jacksonville Jaguars - BJ Raji (DT, Boston College)
9. Green Bay Packers - Brian Orakpo (DE/OLB, Texas)
10. San Francisco 49ers - Andre Smith (OT, Alabama)
11. Buffalo Bills - Aaron Maybin (DE/OLB, Penn State)
12. Denver Broncos - Malcolm Jenkins (CB, Ohio State)
13. Washington Redskins - Michael Oher (OT, Ole Miss)
14. New Orleans Saints - Chris Wells (RB, Ohio State)
15. Houston Texans - Everette Brown (DE, Florida State)
16. San Diego Chargers - Rey Maualuga (MLB, USC)
17. New York Jets - Josh Freeman (QB, Kansas State)
18. Denver Broncos - Tyson Jackson (DE, LSU)
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Brian Cushing (OLB, USC)
20. Detroit Lions - Robert Ayers (DE, Tennessee)
21. Philadelphia Eagles - Knowshon Moreno (RB, Georgia)
22. Minnesota Vikings - Percy Harvin (WR, Florida)
23. New England Patriots - Clay Matthews (OLB, USC)
24. Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Pettigrew (TE, Oklahoma State)
25. Miami Dolphins - James Laurinaitis (LB, Ohio State)
26. Baltimore Ravens - Vontae Davis (CB, Illinois)
27. Indianapolis Colts - Peria Jerry (DT, Ole Miss)
28. Buffalo Bills - Eben Britton (OT, Arizona)
29. New York Giants - Hakeem Nicks (WR, North Carolina)
30. Tennessee Titans - Darrius Heyward-Bay (WR, Maryland)
31. Arizona Cardinals - Donald Brown (RB, Connecticut)
32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Alex Mack (C, California)

Couple explanations:
- Crabtree to the Browns because I think Edwards will be elsewhere.
- Raji to the Jags because the top two WRs and Sanchez are all gone.
- Orakpo to the Packers because Raji is gone, and Oher would be a reach.
- Bills addressing the pass rush instead of LT because this is a deep OT draft and there will be some very good rushers at 11, and Oher could be considered a reach at that point.
- Malcolm moving up to Denver because Tyson Jackson will likely be there with their pick at 18. I'd love that pick..
- Oher is a reach at 13, but the Redskins have no other needs that could be addressed as well as Oher could address their need at RT.
- Freeman is either going to the Jets or going second round, I think the Jets reach because it's a huge need.
- I think Harvin is the #3 WR, so the Vikings get him.
- Bills reach for Britton, but it's a huge need.
- I like Alex Mack the most at Center so I have the Steelers getting him, but I wouldn't be surprised if they take a CB like I had them doing in my last mock draft. I think one of Alphonso Smith, Darius Butler, Sean Smith and DJ Moore will be there at the end of round 2.

Woo. Hope I didn't forget about any free agent signings when I made this. Please give me input, since this is going to be presented to sports fans. Haha

I'm sure you just weren't paying attention, or this is just a rough draft or whatever...but it's funny because you only have three Buckeyes going in the first round. Holler at us when you fix it.

As a Bills fans, I like the Britton pick a heckuva lot more than the Maybin one, for value and overall impact. I know everyone's saying Buffalo will go DE at #11, but IMO this draft just doesn't have one deserving of that spot. The only DE that will make me happy at 11 is Orakpo, and he'll be gone by then. Assuming your same top-10, I say Oher at 11 and Mack at 28 goes a long way given Buffalo's sparse O-line right now.

I thought about Oher at 11, I didn't put him there because they definitely have some other needs that could be addressed while still addressing LT later in the first round. I'm not too sure about Maybin either, but from what I've been hearing he's been impressive in workouts and is improving his draft stock.

Maybin has improved his stock a lot. He and Moreno both look like they have put a lot of time in the gym, since the season was over. I can see someone taking him fairly high.

I wouldnt be stunned to see Denver pick up Everette Brown. Anything is possible, but I hate the idea of picking up a qb,which could happen.
