2009 NFL Draft (Mocks, Evaluation, etc.)

Well shit. I thought I knew my players/colleges. /fail

Denver needs a big d-lineman badly, and Jackson seems like a good 3-4 DE. Wouldn't be surprised to see Maualuga get taken by them, but they have an abundance of LBers and a huge lack of d-linemen who contribute as much as they should.

I'm not a big Stafford fan.. couldn't have him going #1. I thought 10 was low for him, but 2-9 have much bigger needs than QB IMO. And the Lions.. well, they need to start with offensive line. They have a good RB and good WR, just nobody to block for them. The Davis pick I had them taking the best available non-RB or WR.

I like Nicks.

Freeman is a pick based on need. I haven't seen enough of him to really have a well-informed opinion, but Tampa really needs a QB.

Thanks for the input. Wasn't trying to be defensive, just shedding some light on it. :)

EDIT: Eben Britton is from Arizona by the way. :p

Agree about Smith, Cambodia and I just did mocks and one of my complaints with my own mock was Smith.

-I like Monroe to STL, especially now Pace got released
-I think Freeman drops out of round one and Bucs go something else
-I don't think Moreno falls that low
-I have no idea who Larry English is

Overall I'd say it's a strong to quite strong effort and better than many of the ones of the draft sites

There aren't many teams that really need a RB in round one, you're picking up on the issues that Cambodia and I encountered during this process. We both had him going at 31 (I think) and considered it a big steal/unlikely.

(His draft was different and better, I'll get him to post it tomorrow)

I think when you get to 15 or beyond someone take a chance on him as the best available unless they had a really glaring need

 My bad. There's a tackle from Connecticut that I always get him confused with.

EDIT- William Beatty is his name.

I like Nicks too. Just get the feeling he'll slide a bit further.

I'm not really aware of Denver's needs. Just know that Tyson Jackson and Michael Johnson have seen their stock slip a lot since last season. I would think they could get one of them in the 2nd.

Well, they need defensive line and linebackers. Defensive line is a bigger need after giving it more thought (a couple weeks ago I thought Maualuga was their guy if Raji didn't fall).

There will be some DTs available in the second round more than likely (Sen'Derrick Marks, Fili Moala, Ron Brace). Definitely wouldn't be surprised if they took a LBer instead of Tyson Jackson with their first pick. Also wouldn't be surprised if they traded Cutler and moved up to get Raji..

Apparently Andre Smith looked awful at Alabama's Pro Day today. So yeah, he's probably going to drop like a rock in water.

Bengals will probably go for a pass rusher if they can't get an OT, do you Bengals' fans agree?

I still have a hard time buying the Bengals going after a pass rusher there considering the money they already have locked up in Geathers and Odom.

If Jason Smith and Monroe are both gone, I have no idea where they look. I hope they don't reach for Andre Smith or Oher.
