With the 13th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select...

Michael Oher, OT, Mississippi

New Orleans is on the clock...

There are times when Oher is flat-out dominant. There are other times, though, when he is beaten by a clearly inferior opponent. That inconsistency is maddening and makes it difficult for a scout to stamp Oher with a high grade. While he possesses the physical tools of a sure-fire top-15 pick, concerns regarding his work ethic, motor and overall toughness had us speculating about whether he would slide to a lower first round spot.

Clearly Washington is willing to take a gamble, and for good reason with their aging line.

Our line is getting up there in years. A guy like Chris Samuels has been so special for so long for this franchise, but we have to think about the future. The right side of our line needs help as well.

We simply could not pass on Oher's rare upside and athleticism, especially with such a glaring need up front for the future. We had him right behind LB Curry & DE Orakpo on our board.

Two years ago, Laurinaitis burst onto the scene in a big way against Texas, and was instantly among the best defenders in football. Last year there was top-10 talk for JL, especially with the Patriots looming in that vicinity. James returned to school, and Mayo had a breakout year in NE. Fast forward a year and Laurinaitis' stock has taken a slight hit despite probably his best season of football. I was very critical of James for not participating in the Senior Bowl festivities, but it looks like James still made it into the first half of the round.

Excellent value here for the Houston Texans, many felt Everett would come off the board a lot higher. Defensive end... Everett... Brown gives them a premiere DE prospect to pair with pro bowl DE Mario Williams and another great athlete in that young and talented defense.

I know this pick won't match that young punk McShady...
Every expert gets their own ankle biter here at Disney. The suits think it's adorable, I think it's just annoying.

We chose "The Little Animal" because we need a run-stopping linebacker. Our run defense needed improvement and we got a big, strong, smart linebacker to plug the holes. Controlling the line of scrimmage will help our secondary. We are excited to have a player of James abilities join the team.
