Washington's draft
Summary: OT & LB were major priorities as Washington's talent is very old. Oher & Brinkley addressed that in a big way. White was a good value in the 3rd though a meager contributor, and Boone was a slight reach in the 6th but at a draft slot with low value.
With only 1 first day pick, Washington needed to hit it out of the park and they did so. Finding a good sleeper pickup with one of their 3 later picks makes this class a successful one based on the lack of spots.

Mock | Actual draft spot
1.13 - 1.23 Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
Found our franchise tackle. Slid in the real draft because of some overblown concerns. Started all 18 games, emerging as one of the best RTs in the game. He anchored a line that produced a franchise-record 22 rushing TDs, 47 total TDs, (only 3 teams had 20+ run / 20+ pass) as well as a 3500 yd passer, 1300 yd rusher, 1000 yd receiver.3.16 - 2.12 - Pat White, QB, West Virginia
Good value. Ironically Miami drafted White with the Skins pick in the 2nd. Very minor impact, but could've given Washington some flexibility with athletes like Cooley, Portis, Thomas... and take some of the pressure off of struggling Campbell. Good value, meager impact.5.14 - 5.14 - Jasper Brinkley, LB, South Carolina -
Nailed the pick exactly, although Minnesota traded into that spot first. Brinkley has started the last half of the season after the starter was injured. Great late round pickup.6.13 - undrafted - Alex Boone, OT, The Ohio State University
Drafted Alex as a boom/bust type, and got the latter. He spent last season on San Francisco's practice squad and doesn't appear to be leaving soon.
