Miami, which has the athletes to keep them in it if we are sloopy and turn it over. Uk loses too much. Also, Miami is more like a grudge match rivals game than UK, due to the infrequency that we play. Finally, Miami has owned us lately, and UK seldom has it in their heads that they will beat us - outside of a miracle.

UK fans get sensitive when you mention miracle

You sound like a Gator falling down all over yourself to find reasons that Miami might win.

Auburn's Savage out for season after knee surgery

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Auburn cornerback Aairon Savage will miss the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Coach Tommy Tuberville said Wednesday's operation was a success.
Savage was a starting safety last season and finished with 26 tackles. He hurt the knee in Monday's practice.

Tuberville did not specify the extent or nature of the injury. Savage's brother told the Albany Herald in Georgia that the player had a dislocated knee cap, a torn ACL and a torn MCL.

Savage is eligible for a medical redshirt and could return in 2009 with two years remaining.

I just find it highly suspect that Demps isn't the fastest player on the Florida team

yeah, I'm late to the party, but here's my take from back when I was in High School.

I played DB and returned kick in High School.
Me and the guy who played CB on the opposite side from me would race pretty regularly (since we both also ran track).
In 3 years, he only beat me in the 40 a couple of times. Other than that I owned him.
However, I have never beaten him in the 100m. He placed 4th in the state meet our SR year, I didn't even qualify for the district finals.

So just because Rainey runs a faster 40, doesn't necessarily mean he's "faster" than Demps.

According to this, Ingram has no chance at a medical redshirt, since he played basketball during his regular redshirt year.

usatoday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida coach Urban Meyer said after Thursday night's practice that senior tight end Cornelius Ingram has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will have season-ending surgery next week.

An MRI revealed the tear, which was suffered at Tuesday's practice. It didn't become obvious until later he had a serious problem.

Ingram will rehabilitate the knee and get ready for the NFL draft. NCAA rules allow athletes five years to complete four seasons of eligibility. Since the Hawthorne, Fla., recruit used 2004 as a redshirt season as a true freshman, this is his fifth year at UF. The NCAA allows petitions for a sixth year of eligibility when an athlete has missed two seasons because of injuries and under special circumstances.

But Ingram left the football team in the fall of 2004 and redshirted. Instead of playing football, he joined the basketball team in October and played the entire 2004-05 season. So his redshirt does not qualify as a medical injury in '04, making him ineligible for a sixth year under the current NCAA guidelines.

Awwwww - the "Flop" :groove2::bow: I am psyched that you found it.

I remember the play when it happened, I was listening on the radio, and went nuts when the NCAA passing record was broken. scUM south still hates us for this. I hope we pound the hell out of them. If they beat us with the pair of untried QBs they have in the Swamp, then props to them.

I was waiting for you to find that. For others that don't know about that play, it was in the 1969 Florida-Miami game. Late in the 4th quarter, Florida (who had a huge lead), had their defenders blatantly flop so that Miami would score quicky, allowing them to have QB John Reaves set the NCAA career passing record. It has helped fuel the animosity for that matchup ever since.

Agree Bill. BW, heard you picked up a Juco o-line guy who is now a projected starter. You gotta feel good about that.

The only thing I feel good about is the fact that every ACC game is winnable. The ACC is an absolute joke. Other than that, I'm just waiting to see what this program can do once it is out of Bobby's shadow. I didn't grow up in the south, so I don't fully appreceiate everything he did at FSU......saying that, he has set the program back 5+ years.

Unfortunately, I entered during the decline....2001. Ouch!!!!

4 years of Rix + J.B. + B.B. calling Lorenzo Booker, Amp Lee

Anyways, I watched last years Georgia v. Alabama game from last year and was very unimpressed with Georgia. Does Stafford even have anyone to throw to?

I think UF is the team to beat, by a long shot. I really dislike Tebow, but he's nearly impossible to defend. I really dislike Urban Meyer, but he's nearly impossible to defend.

If the defense is even slightly better, you guys win the SEC. I think it comes down to whether there are 2 undefeated teams outside the SEC. UF won't lose more than 1 regular season game....if that.

I don't think they should lose more than 1 game, but they play a fairly tough schedule and it's unclear just how good the defense will be. They have all the pieces on offense - except possibly a reliable every-down back - but the defense is a question mark.
