2008 Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

My feelings as well...Rivals has been much more consistent in the past than Scout, but this year Rivals has completely missed the boat on some kids...and not just OSU commits/targets. I'm talking nationwide.

I agree, though it is good to see Nathan Williams get the 4-star nod. Wasn't sure where he would be ranked given he's more of an under the radar heartland kid.

In Rivals top 100 preseason two years ago, they had a player from PA that wasn't even playing anymore and wasn't starting when he was on the team. He ended up not going to a D-1 school. After that I lost all faith in them. Plus, I know a college coach and he says college coaches think both Scout and Rivals are a joke. They consider them an unnecassary evil, he said. They would prefer they would just go away but since they aren't, they have to get out of them what they can.

There's an obvious Pitt bias in these rankings, Chris Dokish is a big Pitt homer. Chris Burns at 9? He didn't have any D1 offers, so when Pitt offered him, he jumped all over it. Mark Wedderburn is the top TE in the state and he is a PSU lock, probably why you don't see his name in the top 10.

If anyone honestly thinks that there are 26 better players than David Posluszny in PA, they're crazy.

By the way, Burns just got 4 stars today from Rivals and Wedderburn and Posluszny have three. Wedderburn and Posluszny have 3 stars each on Scout, too, so so much for this guy being biased.

Sorry - I thought that was a link to a Rivals 250 listing, and upon the sight of the glorious Ashley Russell, I think I passed out on my keyboard.
Holy crap. I didn't hear a word she said...and didn't even know my sound was on until Crabtree was 1/2way through his spiel on the Rivals 250.

SMOKING...

Does anyone know if any of those guys on the list are K/P like Ben, or if they are all strictly K? I know the list is a ranking of kickers only, but it would be nice to know if Ohio State is getting a more versatile player than any of the other schools
