2008 Heisman Trophy Discussion

After watching all 3 numerous times all year long. Bradford stood out above the other 2 in my opinion. All 3 played on great offenses. I know everyone is talking about how bad the big 12 defenses are, but I actually think their defenses are way underrated. The big 12 has the most impressive grouping of QBs that I can ever remember in a conference with the likes of Harrell, Bradford, Mccoy, Daniels, Reesing, Freeman and Robinson. A well clicking offense can overcome good defenses and this is the perfect the case with the QB depth, experience and offensive strength. The southern side of the big 12 is one of the strognest halfs of a confenence I've ever seen. But after watching all, Bradford stood way out above the other 2 in my opinion. By comparing the numbers Bradford wins and by watching them on the field Bradford also wins.

Bradford - 4464 yds 48 TD 6 Ints 10.1 Y/A 186.3 QB rating 5 rush TD
McCoy - 3445 yds 32 TD 7 Ints 9.2 Y/A 179.2 QB rating 10 rush TD
Tebow - 2515 yds 28 TD 2 Ints 9.4 Y/A 176.7 QB rating 12 rush TD

Bradfords best games were against his best opponents as he had 14 Tds and 2 Ints against (Texas, Texas Tech, and Ok state). In the headed to head matchup with McCoy bradford even looked clearly head and shoulders above McCoy. I acctually think that the regression of Tebows numbers will hurt him this year because of the strength of their running attack he did not need to do as much. Honestly with Bradford's numbers, and watching his unreal throwing abilities he deserves the heisman over the other 2. Honestly he's the best QB I've ever seen in college and I've been watching since 1997. It's also unbelieveable how amazingly he can run that offense with it only being his second year as starter. I think it's clearly Bradfords to lose.

I guess you're not going to address the stats any more than the colors provided to you earlier.
Looking at "the stats" of those drives, there are only a few plays that a normal quarterback may not make. And by watching what I could of the game between having the chance the channel to keep from vomiting due to Danielson's 4-quarter blow job of Tebow, several of those plays almost didn't happen--Tebow was bailed out by his WRs. One pass was the 22-yarder (IIRC) down the right sideline where the WR had to extend his arms out as far as he could without diving to catch the ball...it was 6 inches from being overthrown. Another was the bullet he threw a crossing pattern throw over the middle which wobbled like a top in midair where the receiver (TE?) had to jump up and reach as high as he could just to reach it, let alone catch it. Yet despite those almost being incompletions, the Tebow jism continued to flow in the CBS press box. The rest of the plays were steady, yet unspectacular--hardly the type where you could truly say that he did it himself, as the phrase "carried his team on his shoulders" implies.

I can't believe voters are going for Tebow over McCoy. In Florida's loss, Tebow lost a key fumble and missed a wide open receiver late in the game that would have set up a winning score.

In Texas's loss, Colt McCoy led a great comeback, and a drop by a young DB with 10 seconds left gave Harrell and Crabtree the chance to win the game.

McCoy did more with less around him. Before the CCG, Tebow wasn't even close to McCoy or Bradford in the season-performance-to-date. It's wrong that people are that much importance on that 1 game for the Heisman.

It's because he's Tim Motherfucking Tebow, the white boy next door Bible-thumping mission-going third-world-country-saving Christ in a jersey.

Hmm could Archie presenting the finalists mean that Tebow is going to win #2?
You can't be serious...

Then, the cameras follow Tebow around on the sidelines whilst the Bible-thumping molester of Filipino children makes a [censored]ing spectacle of himself..."Look at me trying to fire up the team that really shouldn't need any firing up!"

I can't wait to see your EXACT same enthusiasm, and cut downs of 21 year olds in your posts, when TP is all over the media. I will be anxiously awaiting.

Good to see Bradford win it, seems like a good kid, and I really liked his little mention earlier about not specializing on a single sport...
That said, the Boomer Sooner guy was obnoxious. It's nice to see that all three candidates have a reputation of being a good people along with athletes. I hate when douches are rewarded.
