Alabama Softball Beats Missouri 7-1, Advances to World Series
TUSCALOOSA -- A third-inning grand slam and stingy pitching performance from Charlotte Morgan was all Alabama needed to complete a two-game sweep of Missouri Saturday, as the Alabama Softball team downed the Tigers 7-1 at the Alabama Softball Complex.


The sweep makes Alabama the NCAA Tuscaloosa Super Regional champion and sends the Crimson Tide to its fifth Women's College World Series.

UCLA, the creme de la creme of that sport is 49-8 this year, so - yeah - it's been a good year.

First time in the CWS, so who knows how they'll react, but they seem to have a very business like killer mentality. As you know, it is all about the pitching, and if the number one girl on any team gets hurt, they are at a huge disadvantage from then on. Remember Jenny and Cat? You need one of those.

Thank for the good words. UCLA killed Georgia tonight. Arizona state eliminated Northwestern.....leaving some team the only Big-10 representative ahead 1-0 in a superregional.....but as I am not sure how gender affects the deal, I shall not comment further.:paranoid:

If we could be a large part of yet again keeping the strongest regular season, under performing playoff programs of all time (FSU, IMO), it would be a great finish to an improved year. The Noles are clearly a better team, but they seem to find a way to 0-2 and barbecue in the regionals far more often then they should.
