2008 Bracketology Discussion

Some pretty bad teams are on a roll in the Big Ten and SEC. I don't think OSU has a spot right now, but I wouldn't be shocked if they snuck in, either. But you can forget it if either Illinois or Georgia win tomorrow. Jawjuh just won a frickin' doubleheader, and they're playing a very beatable Arkansas tomorrow in front of friendly fans. Georgia's not even an NIT team and they're on the verge of crashing the party.

As much as it pains me to do so I have to agree with the Michigan Man.

Nice avatar, btw.

Root for Arkansas and Wisconsin, and then hope the Committee decides that two home wins over Purdue and MSU at the end of the season are enough.

But if we don't get in, I don't think anyone is going to bitch and moan like Jim Boehim did last year.

lunardi on the espn 12 NOON gameday said osu is now out...kellog and davis also said osu is out...

What happened for Lunardi to change his mind? Seems odd given that the teams he now has ahead of Ohio State have not played since the latest update.

Seth Davis would never have Ohio State in because he loves the mid-majors (honestly, I do too). And Clark is apparently playing the Herbstreit mantra of overcompensating to avoid the appearance of homerism.

That said, I don't have Ohio State in either. I just feel that big conference teams have the best chance to prove their worth in the regular season. If you're team can't do better than 2-10 vs. the RPI top 50, then you didn't do a very good job of proving your worth.

Agreed. If we get left out we can look at missed opportunities over the course of the season, including two ugly conference losses.

Well Vandy is one of the SECs better- and most underrated. We could take em if they shot terrible from 3 though.

Seriously, Lunardi has us as the last team in, and I would say he's the best Bracketologist- but I'm not getting my hopes up. :(

That was before his most recent update when he moved us as the last 4 out.
