Free Safety - they signed Terrence Holt but still need depth
DT, WR, DE, OT and a return specialist round out the wish list.

With the 44th pick in the 2008 BP Mock Draft, the Carolina Panthers select...

DaJuan Morgan, S, NC State

Chicago is on the clock (who hasn't made contact during draft)...

With Berrian & Moose both departed, I nominate Mario Manningham.

OT/OL is also a major need. QB too, but no value here imo.

Detroit is on the clock...

It's 4 hours since Detroit went on the clock for the second round.

Detroit's primary needs were - OT - Filled in the First Rd.
DT, MLB, RB, DE and TE and Return Specialist and CB rounded out the needs.

Of these needs they added Bodden and Smith through free agency in the secondary - but probably would look eagerly at a well-valued corner at this point in the Draft. They passed on Pacman Jones - so character is important to the Lions.

But, not over their needs for DT and MLB help.

Pat Sims out of Auburn looks like solid value at the DT position but may lack the ability to shed blocks Detroit seeks.

I suggest Jerod Mayo as ILB/MLB prospect out of Volunteers of UT.
(He was - on some boards- rated higher than Connor).
