OK - got it -

Sorry there folks an irate '49ers owner was complaining about the time difference. He said pick no later than 2:30 and naturally, I took that as West Coast time.

Anywhere - here it is, with the 8th pick of the 2nd round the 49ers add future depth to their Defensive Backfield in the form of Justin King CB out of Penn State.

Here seen in a photo previously used in this thread.

Playing catch up here in the Studio.

Joe Flacco - an interesting pick-up for the Ravens. You could say that Flacco beats Henne and Big Tex, as Delaware beat Appalachian State which beat UM. You could, if Delaware had actually beaten Appalachian State.
Kidding aside - Flacco brings good and steady numbers from his years at the helm of the Blue Hens. Plus, his draft stock has been going insane. He’s flying up the draft boards, with one NFL scout ranking him above Andre Woodson, QB, Kentucky. While I don’t agree with that sentiment, Flacco is definitely a talented, poised QB that is a solid pick at this point.

He'll present a traditional pocket-passer counter-point to Troy Smith .. makes for an interesting summer on the East coast,

The 49ers were in need of depth at the cornerback position with the aging Walt Harris a question mark going forward (hey didn't Harris coach QBs or something in Columbus before opting to be a head coach? Eh, maybe not).

Now some might question the phantom tackling pose being displayed by King in the earlier graphic. Those folks would be overlooking the obvious talents King brings to the table - plus there is some talent in the city by the Bay (Nate C.) who can give the Penn State product some pointers on laying the wood.

What King has never lacked, when healthy, is speed. Looked at prior to the 2006 season as a possible future 1st round pick, his draft stock slipped some - due in no small part to nagging injuries that slowed him in the 2007 campaign. King is also reckoned to be a very smart kid who will likely heed coaching. He walks into a situation where he will get the opportunity to soak up some of those pointers while possibly seeing time in the return game.

Voting is now open for New Orleans' draft slot... and having missed both picks and not hearing from txbuckeye1983 at all, I think we need a new saints owner.

BengalsandBucks' top-5 is in, after Dynasty goes.

Saints need a TE so lets give them one....Purdue TE Dustin Keller is my vote
Well there is this, they were after Shockey (and couldn't close that deal) so someone in the Saint's front office feels the need for a player at TE. Not changing my vote - but I think your's is an interesting suggestion.
