IlliniHQ said:Illini tackle Williams out for the season
Illinois defensive tackle Sirod Williams has a torn ACL in his right knee and will miss the 2008 season.
The injury happened during Saturday's evening practice at Camp Rantoul. An MRI was done Monday and the Illinois coaches were hoping it wasn't a serious injury. They got the news Tuesday night.
"It is unfortunate," Illinois coach Ron Zook said after this morning's practice. "The fortunate thing is that he does have a redshirt year, so we'll have him one more year.

Interesting that they have us 11-1, 7-1. That means a win over mighty USC and a loss to (I'm assuming) Wisconsin. I'll worry about Wiscy when they prove that they've found a QB. Also, isn't their DL banged up? I looooooove the scUM prediction. I think they're nuts if they believe Iowa is gonna go 8-4, 5-3.SI Conference Report: Big Ten How They'll Finish Conference Overall W-L PCT W-L PCT

Best Offensive Player Curtis Painter :: QB :: Purdue The fourth-year starter needs 3,030 yards to surpass former Boilermaker Drew Brees as the most prolific passer in Big Ten history.
Best Defensive Player James Laurinaitis :: LB :: Ohio State A two-time All-America and last year's Butkus Award winner, he led the Buckeyes with 121 tackles, then passed on the NFL draft.
True Freshman to Watch Terrelle Pryor :: QB :: Ohio State Look for the Buckeyes to use the 6' 6", 235-pound super recruit like a young Tim Tebow.
Coach on the Rise Mark Dantonio :: Michigan State In his first year he took over a team that had endured three straight losing seasons and led it to a 7-6 record and a bowl game.
Coach on the Hot Seat Kirk Ferentz :: Iowa He was the toast of Iowa City when the Hawkeyes won 10 or more games in 2002, '03 and '04, but since then his teams are a pedestrian 19-18.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Purdue's senior class has a very senior member this year.
Coach Joe Tiller is retiring after his 12th season, and the departing Boilermakers consider the 65-year-old one of their own. They plan to send him out the right way.
"I think his last year is going to be an emotional thing for our seniors and for him," senior quarterback Curtis Painter said. "He's like one of us."
Painter said the players appreciate Tiller's no-nonsense style, sense of humor and dedication to the program. Tiller has an 83-54 record at Purdue and has led the Boilermakers to 10 bowl games in 11 years.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still broke his left ankle in practice and will be out eight to 10 weeks.
Team spokesman Jeff Nelson said Still's injury occurred during a scrimmage Saturday. Still is scheduled to have surgery.
The redshirt freshman was expected to provide depth in a defensive tackle rotation that will already be without Chris Baker and Phil Taylor, who were kicked off the squad earlier this month for off-field issues.
Still also sat out last year with a left knee injury.

Finch helped lead Warren Central to its fourth straight Indiana high school Class 5A title in 2006.
