So where do things stand for Florida and Texas?

The Coaches numbers are real, and the computers and Harris numbers are my guesses, but they are conservative from Florida's standpoint. Looks like Florida is in to me.
Rk..Team.....Harris.....Coaches...Computers..Total (this is the BCS score - the average of the first 3 numbers)
1..Oklahoma.1..0.9600..1..0.9718..1.000..1..0.9773
2..Florida..2..0.9750..2..0.9711..0.890..4..0.9454
3..Texas....3..0.9450..3..0.9233..0.940..1..0.9361
Tellshow had it that Florida needed no more than 40 points or so in Coaches to clinch - which, a the time he reckoned was unlikely. Looking at that it was clearly a > 40 flip to UF.

for those watching the BCS show,

how funny was it watching the faces of the rest of the pannel as Charles Davis gave away the title game. It was obvious after Texas was named Fuesta Bowl particpant, but they didn't want to tell viewers the last match-up beofre going to the break.

Chris Rose was stunned.

Miami is to Gainesville as pick as pick-a-town-in-Michigan is to Columbus.

Miami is a drive from Gainseville, MIami is an expensive flight from Oklahoma.

I've made the drive from Tally to South Beach many of times....not fun, but doable.

It's even more doable from Gainesville.

You're smarter than that.

Bill, I was not trying to make a reference to mileage/distance issues by my post.

South Florida generally, and Miami specifically is not "Gator Country."

True - we have alumni there, but it is not a Gator friendly town, nor is the press Gator friendly. Of course it is easier for UF fans to make the game. But that would be true if it was played in Tallahassee. If it was, it would be a stretch to say Tallahassee location would be a big Gator advantrage. Similarly, Miami is not our stomping grounds either. Not saying it is horrible, but it is not the same thing as LSU playing in New Orleans.
