The B10 Network just said that Michigan would consider Carlos Brown at QB if Mallett were to transfer...Are you fucking kidding me!!!! The kid played QB in H.S. but give me a break. If they did that every QB on their roster would transfer. RR is walking on egg shells and better be careful in this situation.

Because if Mallett leaves and Pryor picks OSU that leaves you with a first year starter with alot less talent than Mallett. They will have to run the offense until you recruit a mobile QB...2 YEARS...you cannot expect a true freshmen to be awesome in the spread...VY wasn't all world his first season. Are you getting the point now? 2-3 at minimum to get the new offense rolling.
So if Mallett stays or Pryor comes, the offense is not set back two years? You already listed several good reasons why 2008 is going to suck anyway (reasons that Sniper and I have also previously listed...and more.) When you say "set back two years", sounds to me like you think it'll take til whosever junior season (meaning 2010) to set things right. Sorry, but that's the scarlet-goggles point of view. "2-3 years at minimum" is the scarlet-and-beer-goggles point of view. Yes, 2008 is not going to be pretty no matter how you slice it. Beyond that, I like the way things look. That was the point of hiring RR.

Vince Young, by the way, had the luxury of redshirting his freshman year.

P.S. You're hogging the Kool-Aid if you think Carlos Brown will take a single snap at QB next year. Recruiting season is not over. As I said earlier, there's a list of five uncommitted quarterbacks that I guarantee one of which will end up at Michigan.

It will take at least 1 year to get the offense to even come close to where RR wants with Mallett or Pryor...without them at least 2. Everybody including the linemen will have to adjust. Manningham and Arrington are gone my friend. You can take your recruiting ranlings and shove them. I don't want to hear that any of your young guys are as good as those two. They had the NFL scouts drooling in the Cap One performance.

Really its not hard to figure out. I guess your trying to be funny or sarcastic but even RR himself has said that the Michigan faithful need to be patient.

For at least one season Michigan is gonna take some lumps. BTW witherspoon your highly touted LB'er recruit will visit Tenn and you lost out on a highly ranked safety to Clemson tonight...good luck.

It's not even worth talking to you if you think I was being funny or sarcastic the numerous different times I've said 2008 is gonna be a bum year for Michigan.

It's also not worth talking to you if you think I said that Greg Mathews or Junior Hemingway or any of the WRs for next year will be as good as MM or AA.

And finally, it's not worth talking to you if you are going to completely discount this year's pack of recruits, as you seem to be when you say I can "shove them". So J.B. Fitzgerald is gonna visit Knoxville. (A link would be appreciated, BTW.) Big deal. Nearly the whole class is sticking it out, so "shoving" the recruiting class is not in the cards. Sorry.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd Brandon Smith, another highly ranked safety, has us listed as part of his final two, so it works out. Oh dear God 'Spoon is taking an all expenses paid visit to another school? OH THE HORRORS! ALERT THE VILLAGERS!

I was going to post this - but it doesn't exactly help the idea of a quick turnaround, does it? :wink2:

VY was just so-so in his second year in the system at Texas. Of course, their fans will tell you that their OC was an idiot who was way too slow to give VY the reins and let him go, which is a problem that shouldn't occur under R-Rod.

But I agree that your posts reflect realistic scenarios, and aren't deserving of taunts about TSUN's expected struggles in 2008 and possibly 2009.

Things may not be quite so bad. Click and scroll down a wee bit.

Lansing State Journal: Outgoing Carr revels in win

Obviously I hope Manningham is serious about getting that degree. That's the sort of thing that, if a guy wants to do, it trumps all concerns about systems and stuff.

And I did not know Trent had a fifth year of eligibility (he's listed as a senior.) He appears to be committed 100% to returning, which should help keep some continuity in the secondary. (Doubt he'd have been drafted.) I still believe Adams and Englemon, the safeties, were the two best players back there, but Trent got better as the year went on.
