OK, just to clarify things. We've got a bet between lv and HailTo, as well as a bet between lv and Sniper. The bet is TSUN vs. Minny in football for the 2007 season (Oct. 27th, or as rescheduled), straight up (no point spread).

The winner gets to choose the avatar picture and avatar "tag-line" (e.g., Maize and Blue Wahoo) for the loser(s) for a 7-day period, to be started within 48 of the game ending. The temporary avatar content must be acceptable under normal BP guidelines (no nudity, obscenity, racism, etc.). Note - Sniper currently has no avatar, but would get one for the 7-day period if Minnesota wins.

Do all three of you agree to those terms?

agreed.

pretty vague there Voyd.

Sounds about as vague as Jim Tressel was when Chris Vance couldn't play in the 2002 opener.

I have no problem with a coach keeping disciplinary actions private. I do, however, have problems with the lack of disciplinary actions. When are they going to suspend Marlin Jackson, anyway? Oh yeah, he had to sit out one game: against a team of fourth-graders.

I does appear that an overwhelming majority of Michigan's suspensions come against cupcakes. I do recognize that Carr has run a clean program up North (wow, I hate giving that loser a compliment), and I respect him for that. But, it does seem that the disciplinary action comes at extremely convenient times.

Second half will make or break UM

By MATT MARKEY
BLADE SPORTS WRITER

ANN ARBOR - When the 2007 football season is put under formal review, the Michigan Wolverines want to look back and see one half that had more than its share of disappointments and shortcomings, and one in which all their promise was met. That second half the Wolverines hope defines their legacy starts this Saturday with Purdue. Michigan offensive lineman Adam Kraus said those half dozen games left on the schedule can be this team's redemption. Two losses to open the season have left the Wolverines scarred and well removed from the national championship picture, but Michigan is unbeaten in the Big Ten Conference, and that's where it must stake its claim, Kraus said. "The ring is on the line," Kraus said. "The goal is to win the Big Ten championship, and the next six weeks will decide it all."

Rob Oller commentary: Big upset could send Harbaugh to Michigan

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Sportswriters love those mouths that constantly move. But does Michigan? When Stanford shocked Southern California on Saturday, the upset overturned more than the top of the college football rankings. Most fans tend to view upsets only in the context of how they affect the polls, but the fallout goes well beyond the game of musical chairs that has schools jumping in and out of the top 10.

U-M aims for title
Larry Lage
Associated Press

ANN ARBOR ? Michigan is one of just three Big Ten teams without a loss in the conference, giving the Wolverines hope that their season will be remembered for more than the Appalachian State loss. "Really the Big Ten race is wide open, so whoever gets hot at this time of year will take the Big Ten Championship," Michigan safety Brandent Englemon said. "We're right there in the mix of everything."
The Wolverines (4-2, 2-0) will soon know a lot more about their chances of turning around their much-maligned year because they host Purdue on Saturday and play at No. 18 Illinois next week.
If Michigan can get past both games unscathed, it probably will earn a spot in The Associated Poll again after its unprecedented fall from No. 5 to being unranked following its stunning loss to second-tier Appalachian State.

Well, it's very much possible that we win the conference. Likely? No, but still possible. Purdue doesn't worry me half as much as Illinois does because Juice Williams, while he can't hit the broad side of a barn while passing, is a damn good runner. Curtis Painter? Not so much. If we can get through those unscathed, it would set up a dandy in Ann Arbor (is a classy lady ) and as we all know, rankings don't mean shit in that game. Obviously, the Buckeyes would be the favorites, but weirder things have happened.

I'm going to do a special "guest spot" in Stewart Mandel's reader mail column exclusively here on BP. Yes, this was an actual question...

What does Michigan have to do to get the respect (I feel) it deserves? I see five, two-loss teams ranked ahead of Michigan, and I just don't get it. Michigan lost both games at home, which is bad, but both losses were the first two games, and they are undefeated after that, having beaten teams that were ranked at least some time during the year (Penn State, Purdue and Illinois).

Scott, shoot yourself right now. I do not want you polluting the gene pool. Fucking idiot.

Call me crazy, but maybe we shouldn't lose to a 1-AA team and follow it up with a 32 point ass kicking at the hands of Oregon

OK, you're crazy, positively certifiable. :tongue2:

You're also right about the not losing to Appy State and the Ducks if you want respect.

And we Buckeye fans need to keep it zipped and wait until we've earned redemption before we start demanding respect.

And this also highlights the fact that we have nothing to complain about. Some fans would gladly trade their "respect problem" for ours, and Michigan fans are not the only ones on that list.
