This ones getting way too far off topic but what the hell....2004 MSU, 2004 Alamo Bowl, 2004 IU, 2006 Texas are just 4 real quick ones off the top of my head that TG caught a short pass and turned it into a monster. I'm sure I'm missing many others.

Building on your point, late on the fourth quarter of The Game 2005 up in AA Troy kept hitting Teddy on short quick routes for first downs because the Michigan secondary was playing him deep...he made at least one difficult catch during one of the last two drives. He sure looked as good as a "possession receiver" then...

The talent in the Michigan secondary is SORELY lacking. I think they'll be in some serious trouble by the time November comes around.

They could be in some serious trouble as early as Sept 1. Appalachian State returns every skill player on offense. Their receivers are small, but they are great athletes (quick as hell), run good routes, and have good hands. Their QB was only a true freshman last year, he'll be much improved. And they only lose one anchor from their O-Line.

scUM's mantra for this year ought to be "Offense wins championships."

Wolverines schedule could have couple of stumbling blocks

ANN ARBOR ? With eight games to be played at the Big House, Michigan appears to have a favorable schedule for the 2007 season. But the Wolverines are wary of two formidable three-week stretches early and then late in the year.

Michigan faces a gauntlet of Oregon, Notre Dame and Penn State on consecutive Saturdays early on in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines then must get through a wicked three-game string to end the season when they play at Michigan State, at Wisconsin and then host Ohio State on three straight weekends.

?We do have the benefit of being at home, but we?ve got two teams [Oregon and Notre Dame] that are among the better teams in the country,? said coach Lloyd Carr at the team?s annual Media Day on Monday. ?It still comes down to the preparation and using the home field to our every advantage.?

Yeah like Michigan's going to lose to a 1-AA school at home. That's like me saying "Oh yeah Youngstown State, they're taking out the Buckeyes. Wishful thinking, never happen". Hey a pig just went flying past your window! The teams I'm worried about throwing the ball are Oregon, maybe Penn State, Purdue, and maybe OSU. Our offense will carry us through the Oregon, PSU, and Purdue games and who knows what will happen vs. OSU?

I saw what App State did to YSU last year. App State's speed will give your secondary a lot more trouble than YSU's will ours.

@MSU
@ Wisky for a night game
OSU

No way in hell you guys come out of that stretch without a loss.

I think PSU finally gets the monkey off their backs vs tsun as well.

Ain't sayin' App State is going to win. But they will move the ball on you; they will score; and they will be a real test for your secondary. If the entire game was App State's offense vs your defense, they'd stand an awfully good chance of winning. Unfortunately, their defense also has to play your offense, and that's where you will win.

Yes, the NFL will like Henne's size significantly more than Brennan's......Henne has a much better frame than Brennan, I don't think its even debatable

As for the ystem, look what happened when Quinn played in an NFL system....yes Hawaii wings it around but so does Texas Tech, it doesn;t translate into an NFL system...Michigan runs a Pro-Style offense and coordinators like than when analyzing QB's for the next level

We can re-visit this after the season, but I guarantee Henne gets taken before Brennan and probably in the first round

Per CFN 2007 CFN All-Americans (Quarterbacks) article:

Brennan is the absolute, 100%, NFL-caliber real deal running a high-octane offense at peak efficiency.

They have "Hanging" Chad Henne 7th...
