I believe he was refering to the Offense's performance in the most recent scrimage vs. our Defense and how the injured players (Beanie, Barton, Rehring, Skinner, Mitchum, and others) on O had a big impact on the outcome.
Yup, i re-read it and i was way off mili, my bad.. i'm assuming I'll be puking later

Mili, I get what your saying and yes common sense would dictate that but look no further than last years defense to disprove your theory. They lost how many starters from 05? Including A.J. Hawk.. and all the sudden the "non-starters" stepped up.. a year makes a very big diffrence, especially with 18,19 year olds becoming 20,21 year olds.. check out #33 in 05 scUM & 06 scUM.

no offense but #33 didn't really make any plays against michigan in 06. In fact his disappearance act the last two games of the season was one of the most disappointing things for me.

none taken, was illustrating the diffrence between on year to the next. I wouldn't say he disappeared.. it may not be a popular opinion but i think he was overrated last year.. he found himself in the right place at the right time alot in terms of all his picks.. solid tackler though and all over the ball, we'll see how he does this fall

Wow, I was looked upon as an idiot when I suggested that James was good but no where near as good as he was being projected by the media and fans within my group of friends. I think James can be a very good player for us, but we was not in the league of Hawk and others last year like many said.

Defense Looks Strong In Scrimmage Victory

By Jeff Svoboda
Special to Scout.com

There was no denying just how good the front seven looked as the defense posted a 50-44 win that belies the dominating nature of the (now former) white shirts. In case anyone wasn?t sure after watching the first 104 plays of the scrimmage, the defense made one final stand as the offense was given a final play from inside the 20-yard line, but Todd Boeckman was unable to get a pass off as he was smothered by a host of players to set off hoots and hollers on the defense?s sideline.

It was an effort that brought smiles to the faces of the defensive players as they met with the media after the event.
?I feel like at times especially early in the game that we were really playing dominating football,? said cornerback Donald Washington, who made two interceptions. ?They got a couple breaks where we kind of got on our heels a little bit but we regained our composure, brought it all back together and we finished in the end, and that?s what?s most important.?

Lots of quotes in this article.

The-Ozone Note and Quotebook
By John Porentas
Nickname: "T and T and Tay? No, TNT and T?."
That's how the conversation went when OSU fullback Dionte Johnson tried to explain the nickname the OSU fullbacks now have to the-Ozone earlier this week.
Dionte Johnson

The first part of that nickname, TNT, is a little play on words, and refers to Johnson's teammates at the fullback position, Trevor Robinson and Tyler "Tank" Waley. T? stand for Dionte, who of course completes the trio at fullback, and according to Johnson, TNT also refers to the way all three are trying to play the position.

"Explosion," said Johnson.

"We've been trying to get after it that way. We've been trying to finish this year. Just finishing with a pop.

If Beanie can't stay healthy, we will need the QBs and receivers to make more plays. That's a scary thought right now.
Having to depend a lot on freshman running backs, no matter how good is a scary thought also.
Bottom line. We must get production and health from the two Wells.
