Aww come on. You mean you don't like Halliburton?

They're moving their headquarters to the middle east for whatever reason so it looks like Shiner wins

The losses are gonna be tough on the 'Horns but McCoy is going to be a monster and there is obviously talent to fill in...Not sure how the Big 12 is looking, but I'd pencil Texas in for the Conference Championship game...I hope Melton can finally make an impact, the guy is a beat but it was pretty clear that the backfield wasn't his place

Living in Austin the past 10+ years I LOVE Horns football....except for the past two years when they played the Bucks.....

But I have said since day one of Colt coming on campus he WILL be a Heisman winner or National Champ...one or the other....he is one of the best QB's to come out of HS in along time....I witnessed him at every home game of the Horns last year (I have season tickets)...UT, tOSU, ISU, OkState, etc. and he was a young Troy...
the only problem the Horns have this year is the D...They have too many key elements gone...Mack lies heavy on experience and the D doesn't have much....BUt they will be Big 12 Champs!!!!!

Deal keeps OU-Texas game at Cotton Bowl through 2015

DALLAS (AP) ? The annual football game between the University of Oklahoma and University of Texas will be played at the Cotton Bowl at least through 2015, Dallas city officials announced Friday.

Although a formal contract has not been signed, an agreement is in place between the schools, the city and the State Fair of Texas, said Meranda Cohn, chief of staff for Dallas Mayor Laura Miller. The Dallas City Council must also approve the contract.

If Texas solidifies their pass defense, the schedule gives them a decent shot at making a run for the BCS Championship game.

Sep. 01 Arkansas State
Sep. 08 TCU
Sep. 15 at UCF
Sep. 22 Rice
Sep. 29 Kansas State
Oct. 06 vs. Oklahoma (at Dallas)
Oct. 13 at Iowa State
Oct. 20 at Baylor
Oct. 27 Nebraska
Nov. 03 at Oklahoma State
Nov. 10 Texas Tech
Nov. 23 at Texas A&M

I will miss OSU playing Texas this year, it was a blast down in Austin last year.

You had fun walking 2.5 miles because there weren't any cabs? What's wrong with you? Kidding aside, going to the Texas series the last two years was a blast. This year won't feel the same without a top notch OC team to start off with. I guess I'll have to wait till we head out to the left coast to play USC.

Is TCU supposed to be good this year? I know they are usually decent but they'll have to be better than decent to beat Texas.

Maybe it's just me, but I remember watching a UW-USC game in which the ending was in doubt very late in the 4th quarter. Just last season. So, you know, I guess chalking UW up as an easy W might not be in our best interests....just sayin'....

EDIT: Back to the Horns, I guess....

I agree. We have TCU on the schedule, but that's like riding in a souped up Honda after driving a Formula 1 car around. The last two years aside, I am not pleased with our OOC scheduling. It will remain that way until there's a playoff.

We've had some academic casualties on the line. Very thin at tackle. A true freshman will probably end up making the rotation. This is weird after being so stacked on the OL the last few years.

CFN appears to be overrating our linebackers. The potential for a 10 is there but they haven't really proven anything. Sergio Kindle plays lost, Robert Killebrew is a personal foul penalty waiting to happen, and Derry and Bobino, while solid, are not all that talented.

whether they are a tough win or not does not change the fact that they are not a top notch out of conference team. the eyes of the entire nation will not be on our game in washington as they were for both of our matchups with UT. that is what i meant by this season won't feel the same. i never said it was an easy win.

Can you see another scenario this year where TX beats OU again and still fails to make it to Big 12 title game?

It's unlikely, just like last year, but it's possible they could lose 2 of their last 4:

Nebraska, at Okie State, TexasTech, and at aTm.

I really like the Horns chances this year to make a serious run at the National Championship. I actually picked them to rematch against SC in the NC game (and to come up short this time, sorry Horns fans). I really respect the Texas program and traditions that they carry down there. I think Ohio and Texas are the two best states for football (especially high school) in the country. I also expect Colt to be a serious contender for the Heisman in 2007. I can pray that we see a Buckeyes vs. UT showdown in the NC game in January, but I know this is a transition year for our Bucks, so we'll see what happens. I just can't wait until the season starts.
