2007 NFL Draft (Projections/Mock Drafts/Evaluations/Draft)

I don't understand the negativity either. I'm praying he goes #1 instead of either project QB.

It's amazing the guys who have been QB's who have been at the top of the last two drafts where a QB has been selected.

Alex Smith and JaMarcus Russell.

There's years those guys would have been lucky to have been drafted in the 1st round period.

I think Adrian Peterson is a risk. He's got the upside to be great, and we all knew that after his freshman year -- but now we also know he is injury prone and, at this point, there are very legitimate durability issues.
Peterson has picked up knocks throughout his college career just from his style of running and being a jackass in the endzone. Just because he put up great numbers a couple years ago doesn't eliminate the fact that he hasn't been able to stay healthy through a 12-game College season since then.
My take is that he's got great potential in the NFL, but he is a risk. I'd say we should trust the coaches -- except that we're dealing with the Browns here  I'll be happy if he's on the squad, and if not I hope we pick up a lineman.

both those guys would be first rounders in any year

He wasn't being a jackass. His legs got taken out as he was diving for the endzone to get in.

I still can't get over how many people thought he was showboating.

Agreed. That was a legit move in an effort to score.

I for one am not worried about his durability and any team would be lucky to have him.

I agree. My point was the Browns seem to have tough luck with first round picks getting hurt for whatever the reason is. I think 31 teams would be lucky to have him, but the Browns are the one who wouldn't. Just my humble opinion.

Just bad luck, it'll turn around for the Browns. Well, I hope not.

After his freshman year, pretty much any team would have taken him #1.

Based on potential and his sick athleticism I think Russell would be a 1st rounder any year.

I don't know about Russell. The thing I find amazing is that virtually no one (at least from what I heard) talked about how great a QB Russell is or how he'll be a great QB at the next level until after the Sugar Bowl. And let's just say it doesn't take a phenom at QB to dismantle ND's secondary. I've watched several of his games, and while he is a beast, his throwing skills IMO would put him in the lower half of NFL QBs at best.

Thats why I said based on potential and his athleticism. :wink2:

His stats are ordinary, and hes inconsistent, but he'll be a top 3 pick just for those 2 reasons.
