2007 NFL Draft (Projections/Mock Drafts/Evaluations/Draft)

What makes you say that? He has all the tools to be a very good WR in the NFL. He runs good routes, has good speed, and is very intelligent. I think he could turn out to have a better career than Ginn.
I shall let scooter speak for himself, but im on the fence with gonzo. while i agree with everything you have there. he didn't do shit without teddy in the NC game, when the db's focused on him he became irrelevant. thats where i sit.. he has all the tools and i think he has the potential to have a better career than ginn (not really sold on teddy ballgame in the nfl) but he has alot to show.

This speaks volumes, unless of course JM is lying, which I can't see him doing. I think Calvin is going #1.

From USA Today:
JaMarcus Russell said during a media session Thursday that the Raiders had not contacted him.

"I've heard nothing, nothing at all," he said, adding, "I have no problem waiting to find out."

Former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn said Oakland had begun to outline contract parameters for him.

Calvin Johnson, the wide receiver from Georgia Tech, declined to comment on whether his camp had any communication with the rebuilding Raiders.

Pre-draft maneuvering to obtain the right player at the right price is nothing new. Russell is taking things in stride.

"You never know what is going to happen in the draft," he said. "Whatever happens, I'm going to be pleased with it." [READ]

Why would Houston give up the 10 pick to move all the way down to 21 and only pick up a late 2nd round pick? Do they hate their fans?
Because they paid too much for their 1st round pick last year - emotionally and financially. Think of it as taking a safety.

If I remember correctly, in the NC game, Troy spent most of the time either running for his life or on his ass. It's hard to be productive as a WR when that is happening.

maybe they were eyeing up Levi Brown and now that Atlanta/Miami are thinking of taking him they dont want to forced to pick at 10. Now they are back at 21 and have a chance to get Joe Staley and they get a 2nd which previously they had traded theirs to Atlanta in the Schaub deal.

If I remember correctly on more than one occasion, when Troy wasn;t running for his life, on his ass, or making bad throws, our WRs were having a helluva time getting open

but regardless, point was the one game gonzo didn't have ginn as a compliment he had a very quiet day. yes troy had a shit game. the o line had a shit game. and the play calling was very suspect.

These are from footballsfuture.com:

'Twas the night before the draft - 6 rumors

The Titans are working to acquire Chargers running back Michael Turner and Lions wide receiver Mike Williams. - tennessean.com

The Raiders are shopping Randy Moss for a 2nd round pick. The Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots are believed to have talked with the Raiders, but neither was willing to give up a 2nd. - sfgate.com

The Detroit Lions organization met Friday and concluded that, unless a blockbuster trade offer comes their way, they will draft Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson. - NFL.com

That blockbuster trade could be with the Bucs. The Lions would swap picks with the Bucs in the first round for the Bucs two 2nd round picks. The Bucs haven't decided if they will give up that much, but might pull the trigger if Johnson is there. - ESPN

What top prospect could surprise and fall out of the first round? Both Alan Branch and Reggie Nelson are possible suspects. Various sources are reporting their draft stock is falling rapidly. Both were once considered top 10 players. Now they could fall to the end of the first or even farther.

The Cleveland Browns are shopping Braylon Edwards. - Cleveland.com

An NFL source with knowledge of the Raiders' discussions with Brady Quinn's representatives this week said late Friday afternoon that the two sides aren't close, have never been close and will certainly will not consummate a deal before the start of Saturday's NFL Draft.

In fact, NFL observers at the draft in New York were preparing for the Raiders to select LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell instead of Quinn with the first pick in the draft. [READ]

Hopefully every Buckeye slips to the point that the Browns take them. I am already prepared for us taking Quinn, and I am also prepared to possibly switch teams. (False alarm, probably, but...) I don't want Quinn period. If we get Quinn, we better get some pretty bad-ass picks 2-7, and hopefully even more picks than that, cause I believe Charlie Frye is our QB this year, draft pick be damned. If the Bucks keep slipping, let's take 'em, and let everyone else call conspiracy when the Browns start winning.
