yeah, what was nash thinking he was doing after being forearmed into the scorer's table by a player who outweighs him by about 60 pounds? watch the video again, zapruder. where do you see his legs flailing? oh, that's right. this is yet another example of tibor making up something. :roll1:

now run along and tell us all about the obvious parts of the constitution, sanjaya.

If they suspend them that is complete bullshit...

I am with Chuck on this one that the rule was put in to keep guys off the court and in the fight, and they were never involved...

If the Suns lose Stoudameire and Diaw for what started the whole situation then that is some bs...

I suspend Horry for a game and that is all...

As for being worse than the Bell foul last year, I guess it wasnt as bad after seeing it again, but it was pretty blatant...

I have to disagree with Charles and those saying that the rule is designed to keep players from throwing punches. Obviously if you throw a punch you will be suspended. The rule about leaving the bench area is designed to keep players from having the opportunity to throw a punch.

Exactly what Chuck was saying...The thing is that these guys did not get there...They were off the bench, and heading that way, but they were held back...

The rule should state that if you leave the bench and get involved then you get suspended...Your first reaction in a situation is to jump and help your teammate, then you realize that you can't, so you stop...

The NBA fan in me kind of hopes a crazy scenario like this happens so it can draw attention to the fact of how ridiculous a rule this is.

I mean the focus on TNT has been moreso about Amare/Diaw leaving the bench than the incident which caused everything.

I liken it to people congregating around an accident scene, or traffic slowing down to witness the wreckage, and the cop starts focusing more on the people watching (and starts handing out tickets) instead of attending to the actual crime, and what caused it.

The real loser here is the NBA fan if 3 players are suspended because of a cheapshot by Horry. This series has been great so far and Game 5 would be a huge letdown without 3 of the key components.

Talk about the worst of the possible situations. I really hope that atleast either Phoenix or Golden State makes it through (hopefully Phoenix), because a SA-Utah conference final would make me puke, especially with the thought of the winner possibly playing the Detroit Pistons.

Go Cavs. Go Suns. Go Warriors.

As a Cavs fan I would want them to play anyone but the Suns in the Finals if they make it there. They are built to match up with teams like the Spurs and Jazz.

horry commits an odenish hard foul at the end of the game. (fine by me)

nash goes down in a pile of heap, exaggerating it and flopping to make sure its called. (fine i guess by nba rules, but the amount of flopping that goes on in the nba is enough to make me puke, bring in an nhlish diving penalty and that crap will stop) nash gets up off the floor and goes after horry

diap comes over and starts it up.

horry throws a forearm/elbow

amare takes off like a bat out of hell and is stopped by assistant coaches.

ive got that pretty much right correct?

They should just call it even and fine the three players.

Amare and Diaw shouldn't be suspended.

Robert Horry probably should gone for game 5, but if the NBA decides to let the whole thing go and let all 3 players off, then i'd be fine with it.

Nope, the rule is fine the way it is. There are 5 and 5 players on the court at all times. No need for bench players to even THINK about entering the court to join a brawl.

They need to follow the spirit of the law in this case, especially considering the timing. If Phoenix gets two starters suspended(without physically being within ten feet of the incident mind you), while San Antonio gets one non-starter suspended for basically clotheslining Phoenix's best player and the reigning two time MVP into the scorer's table, then the NBA needs to seriously reconsider the way in which they hand out suspensions.

There has to be a point where common sense comes into play with these situations. Hopefully Stern interferes and just gives Horry the suspension and fines to Diaw and Amare. I mean, that's the only logical solution.
