This is ESPN IN's NFL Mock Draft. Enjoy

x -- Still to be determined by coin flip
y -- Still to be determined by playoffs
+ -- Underclassman

1. Oakland Raiders (2-14)
Projected pick: +JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
Russell vs. Brady Quinn? Let the great debate begin. Most teams have Quinn ahead of Russell, but Raiders owner Al Davis could fall in love with Russell's size and deep arm.

.............

32. y-San Diego (14-2)
Projected pick: Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
A young weapon like Bowe at wide receiver could take an already-potent Chargers offense to the next level.

What a worthless mock. I have a very, very hard time believing Cleveland would draft Branch 3rd overall, especially when they could get Joe Thomas around that area or even slightly lower. Arizona would be stupid to not draft Thomas if he is still there at #5, and they will not trade down for another team to get him, despite what McShay and ESPN think. Arizona is only a few good O-linemen away from having a potentially deadly offense.

Houston drafting Adrian Peterson wouldn't be the smartest move, but they've been there before. He would also have to endure comparisons to Bush, the RB that Texans fans really wanted. I still don't see Leon Hall going top 10 after Jarrett burning him for an encore after the Ted Ginn/Gonzalez show, and Philadelphia drafting a Florida State OLB in the first round just wouldn't be their style. Theyve been projected to draft a first round LB for years, but it hasn't happened.

He's an iffy player for sure. I can't think of who it was but either Salsbury or Clayton was commenting on Russell and they were saying that the Raiders were looking into him because he has a rocket arm (correct) and decent speed (:yow1:) Isn't he pushing 300 lbs??? I'm sorry, but he does not have favorable speed in the pocket. I mean he'll be a player that, if he sees an open lane to run it, he will take full advantage and run for it because of his size NOT his speed.

Russell can move well for a big guy... if you don't think he has mobility, you haven't seen him play.

He has all the physical tools a team would want but his decision making and big game play leaves something to be desired. I wasn't blown away watching him against Florida, Auburn, and Tennessee. He made the throw at the end against Tennessee and makes some nice plays in those games but he can make some bone headed ones.

He had a terrible year, and Adams and Anderson are better.

Ok...But keep in mind he was seeing lots of double teams and backs chipping off on him.

The other guy ont he other side of him ended up having a monster year due to only having to beat one blocker, due to Moses thaking the blockers on the other side.

Well I think Nelson is the better of the two and IMO the Falcons will take a S unless a guy like Gaines Adams is still on the board...

Also you forgot Q. Moses in your mock...:wink2:

I'd take Landry over Nelson anyday cbf40... I like him an awful lot... Nelson is a first rounder, no mistaking, but I like Landry more because of size and run-support ability... Nelson is a good ball-hawk, but struggles against the run...
