Mel Kiper...

There are 16 underclassmen among my projections for the first 32 picks of the 2007 NFL draft, including two of the top three. Jeff probably would have gone late in the first round, probably the next WR after Ginn, but i dont think it really affects Gonzo's draft stock that much, however Dwayne Bowe of LSU and Gonzo look to be going in relatively the same draft spot and i think that Bowe is Gonzo's biggest competition now...of course its hard to say before the combines and all that wonderful stuff....also lets not forget about the wonderlic

What's the over-under on Gonzales's Wondelic Score.

I think Patrick Willis at 30 is way to low for him. He should be, IMO, top 20. He had an amazing season this year, with, I think with 120+ tackles or so. He seems like one of the best LB on the list. IMO. But then again, what does Kiper know?

7 WR's in the first round... :yow1:

Sidney Rice ahead of Jarrett?

Charles Johnson and no Moses in the first?

Bills taking another DB?

Also what do you guys think of Aaron Ross in the first round...IMO that is too high, I think he has mid 2nd written all over him...

I know this is early, but there seems to be alot of ? marks here...

Kiper's obviously wrong because he said that Detroit is gonna draft Thomas instead of Johnson then pick up Gonzo in the second round, trade up to get McKnight and then go from there
Nobody would trade up for Rhema 'dropsies' McKnight, especially not detroit imo (if they already snagged Gonzo). That trend continued in practices this week, from what I've read.
Charles Johnson and no Moses in the first?
Didn't Moses draw attention away from Johnson this season in terms of blockers?

I think there will be a lot of CB reaches this year, due to need and lack of talent.

Exactally my thoughts...Sometimes these guys go on numbers instead of really understanding that maybe that guy really excelled b/c of the role he was playing and not that the guy on the other side was really the guy that was better, but teams gameplanned against him and not so much the other guy. This is my same feeling on the Ginn/Gonzo debate that some have had and it showed during the NC game...

detroit will NOT pass on a qb this year. bank it. they passed on cutler and leinart last year and are paying for it.

Honestly Detroit's main problem was at QB last season...Kitna had a pretty decent season...

Detroit has quite a few problems other than QB and they could also try and wait till the beginning of the second round to go for a guy like Smith or Stanton and pick up a future LT and a QB that could learn behind Kitna for a year or two...

Scout's at the Senior Bowl are saying that he isn't living up to his lofty first round status... They don't think he plays well in space and has trouble in coverage...
I think Kiper is onto something with Gonzo... Belichick is enthralled with him and you could very well see him go there... I know Indy loves him as well and looks at him as a Brandon Stokely type of player...

Watch your mouth! :wink2:

LOL, Honestly it might not be a bad situation for him, if they can get an OT in the first round this year and they have Furrey and Roy Williams to throw to and Kevin Jones in the backfield. He would also get to play in doors and Detroit could use a QB that could make a play or two with his legs with the rest of that o-line up there.

Especially with a guy like Kitna up there to groom him a little bit and not have throw him to the wolves right away...
