COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State men's track and field team put on an impressive all-around performance as the Buckeyes evened the 'The Dual' series with a 110-93 victory over its rival Michigan Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes won 11 of the 19 events.

Was anyone else there (basically in this thread that's you buckeyecoach/bk haha)? I thought it was an awesome atmosphere. Perfect weather, great competition/marks, and ultimately a big win...I don't think the coaches could have asked for anything more to kick off the season. I think the momentum will really carry on through the season b/c those guys were jacked up afterwards. Overall, a big success if you ask me.

I wasn't able to attend so unfortunately I can't give an opinion... I do like the idea of an ongoing dual meet between the two rival schools though. It should continue to generate (a little) excitement for the sport... at least in Central Ohio.

I was there the entire time. It was an awesome environment. One of the most exciting meets I have been to (probably becasue it was so short as well). I thought it was really cool that the team sang happy birthday to Coach Gary after their victory lap and before singing Carmen Ohio.

Really eciting to see those kids enjoying themselves. Even some Michigan fans said it was a great event. Heard Gary did a similar thing with the Big 10 Cross Championship meet held at Ohio State!

We got beat pretty soundly last year and it shows the culture of our program is really improving when we can win a pretty competitive meet without doubling all of our guys and running some off events. The team and I are very excited to put our best foot forward with Drake Relays and then focus on individual events at the Jesse Owens Track Classic."

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Sophomore Jeff See was named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career, the Big Ten conference announced Tuesday.

See claimed the honor following his Olympic B-standard in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:40.86 -- the second-fastest time in Ohio State history -- Friday evening at Jesse Owens Track Classic in Columbus. See's time is sixth-best time by an American this year and also set a Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium record. It qualifies as an Olympic B standard and is the best time in the Big Ten and the Mideast Region.

"Jeff ran a very strong race," Ohio State head coach Robert Gary said. "He went at the last 400 meters completely on his own into some very strong winds. I am looking forward to Jeff going after Nationals and Olympic Trials. There is no shortage of great goals to go after this year."
