2006-2007 season college basketball thread

Couple quick questions about this years NCAA Tourny.

1st. What weekend does the tournament begin? I know in recent years its started right around St. Patricks day and every year my friends and I spend the day in Cleveland and get a hotel and just party downtown. Couple years ago we went to the tourny and were able to watch WVU during their trip to the final 4 I believe. Thats when Gansey was a junior(I played against him in summer leagues when he was at olmstead falls). I ask because it looks like the closest opening round games to me are either Columbus or Buffalo so im hoping they dont start on St. Pats cause my friends and I are looking to get tickets(if there are any available haven't looked.)

ALSO, can we(ohio state) play our opening games in Columbus? What exactly is the rule regarding this. Is it same city? Same arena? I know there was some rule prohibiting something to this extent but not sure exactly.

I'm pretty sure it's the same city, might even be state? Maybe not.

I can guarantee you that you won't see them in Columbus come tourney time.

I'm pretty sure Ohio STate played at the Nutter Center near Dayton last year (I think)

I'm pretty sure the rule states either same city or something ambiguous like "where one team would be considered a home team" or something similarly dumb.

Well, I think the closest open round location would probably be Buffalo then am I right? I dont have the list in front of me but I remember Buffalo being on there, and Lexington. Not sure which is closer to Cbus though.

That's it, I couldn't remember how far it stretches out.

Well with UCLA going down, anyone think that UF goes down tonite...

I am thinking that UK pulls the upset in this one...

I think UF wins by 18.

EDIT-As big of a homer as I am, it's hard for me to see anyone dethroaning Florida. They have no real weaknesses. They're beatable, no doubt, but it'll take a hell of an effort. I really hope we get a re-match with them in the NC game.

Well UK took UF's big knockout punch and then Noah and Horford went to the bench with fouls and I think the game is a 9 pt game at half...

I think UK is going to stay in this one the rest of the way...

UF is playing at a very high level, but they are beatable...Much like UCONN last year, and all the highly rated teams going into the tourney b4 them...

I think that we would give UF a much better game the second time around if we got to play them again. Our team is totally different from that game and we won't be playing on their home floor...
