2005 All-American Bowl (mega-merge)

DeSean Jackson getting the MVP.

He is very talented, but he's lucky he didn't get benched after that dive to the 1/2 yard line.
He also caused the fumble on the punt return by going after a ball over his head rather than checking off to the deep back.

He really needs to get his head turned around straight.

Overall thoughts.

* Very boring game. Definitely did not have the gamebreakers like last year.
* Hey, just because you are returning punts with Jamario does not mean you are Teddy Ginn. I loved Rouse's impersonation of him. Helps you realize how special TG is.
* Alex Boone is a beast. The only time I saw his man get to the QB was when the QB decided to scramble. AB never gave up and was still pancaking guys.
* I never really heard Jamario's name while playing CB, which is a good sign.
* Was Myers-White playing out of position?
* Please do not put kids on this team who have no intention of playing FB in college.
* Sanchez is definitely talented. Sounds like Perilloux (sp?) is pretty mature and serious about the game.
*Tenn and Iowa sure loaded up with recruits. Bet Phil and Ferentz will call it a good weekend.
* How is michigan ranked that high? Who do they have besides Kevin Grady and Mario, seriously?

Muck,

yeah, he got me..:wink2:

kinda glad I got recruited in a ESPN-less era...
What you don't want Buki919 devoting long elaborate posts to your home life, and speculating about why you wear Levi jeans rather than Wranglers? lol

FWIW regarding HH...the problem isn't with him, the problem is that too many posters have been taking his every word as gospel.

He has an insider's perspective, but that doesn't mean he knows everything...or even that much more than most posters about the big picture.

True but what many also fail to realize is that when HH is fooled or surprised, odds are that the staff itself was also. His info is as legit as possible...but in the end, it all boils down to only one person knowing the absolute truth..the kid himself.

I don't see any good in blaming the fans for this. If you are at you desk, on the internet, reading a message board on OSU football, it is pretty obvious that you are pretty into this stuff. And when HH comes along and claims to have some good info to pass along, of course everybody wants to hear it. Is HH at fail for McCoy choosing Tenn. Of course not. However, I suggest that he better have some better backup for the info that he's willing to pass out to internet crazed fans in the future. A third rate source such as a camera man just aint gonna get it done.

I don't know about anyone else, but the game bored me.
I think next year I'll forget about the game and the recruiting hype and go to the driving range instead.
The recruiting game has become a media frenzy and internet frenzy. Tressel gets the kids he can utilize to make a great team. He can turn a good recruit into a great ballplayer.

Michigan has plenty of very good OL recruits (maybe best OL class in the nation) and also B.Harrison is also ranked pretty high as a CB. They have more than just Grady and Maningham, they do have a legit class, but for them to come into today with the #1 rated class is not a very good assessment by the Scout team, IMHO.

Anyways, I am sure everyonce noticed Jamario at CB rather than at Safety. Is this a sign of things to come? Does he really have the hips that many of us thought he didn't have? I was kind of taken aback when I saw the starting lineup, but the fact that this kid was starting for supposed great East secondary really shows you how much he deserved to be in the game in the first place. I thought Worthington deserved it more than a few of the others as well.

But, the game is over and there is no more speculation about Maurice Wells anymore. He is a Buckeye through-and-through and I couldn't be happier about his decision!!! Now, the wait is on for Jason Gwaltney and his apparent Wednesday announcement. With the way he played today, we need a back like him to complement Wells' abilities.

BTW - Before the game, when Lemming was on camera.... did he scare any of you guys? Just wondering if anybody else had the same reaction that I did :).

Then don't pay attention to it...HH for me is someone who is proven to be closer than 99% of us. I have no reason to doubt him. When he misses, the staff misses. However, I will always appreciate the effort.

All I know is that there is a whole other site bashing the daylights out of HH but its not going to happen over here. I'm not saying you are TB because your assessment actually has some thought in it and is a nursery rhyme compared to some of the hate "over there."

I highly doubt that the staff is not more knoweledge of the situation than HH.

If he knew everything they did he wouldn't be continually surprised when the staff isn't as excited about HIS prize recruits as he is.
