2005 Alamo Bowl: Nebraska 32, Michigan 28 (final)

My thoughts on the game====>:slappy: :slappy: :slappy: :slappy: :slappy:

I don't care how this makes the Big Ten+1 "look". Watching scUM lose, and lose like that! is priceless...I just hope it doesn't cost LLLLLoyd his job...

BTW, that is the most slappy smilies I've ever used in one post...Thanks for the laughs scUMmers...

well thats what I get for listening to a whiny michigan fan :2004:

You know better. They are probably telling you they beat us in November.

I heard a little of Mike and Mike this morning. The one guy was pretty funny. He said Hart should have just held onto the ball, casually walked into the crush of Nebraska players, walked through congratulating them and then just step into the endzone.

My favorite part of the whole thing was the camerman in the middle of the field while the whole play was still happening.

On the replay it was clear it was a fumble.
I agree, but he was claiming it's physically impossible for the ball to travel that far if it had truly been knocked out beforehand. Basically he fails to see what is very possible, so it made it difficult to debate :)

I think I'm looking for help from someone who doesn't have the memory of a green bean (myself)... b/c I know I've seen similar plays before that were ruled properly.

I doubt vid will be readily available unless someone here Tivo'd it and can get a clip for you, but oh well.

Tell your pops that of course it's possible. Ball gets knocked out of his hand, while his hand is back, ball pops up in the air an inch or so, and Henne, who was already trying to throw it, continued his motion (after having lost the football) hits the football (which is in the air just above his arm) forward with his hand/arm.

tried that... I was hoping video would help clear his delusions. just for clarification, it's her pops, mine did the right thing and sent me a LLLLLoyd text message from their house.

The hit knocked the ball loose from, but not out of, Henne's hand. The ball was still "on", but not "in" his hand when his arm went forward which is way the ball flailed like it did.

Okay...just watched the clip of the final play. I wasn't able to watch the game...but wow, was that amazing. And if 89 would have pitched the ball back, and then blocked...it would have been a TD easy...Or he could have just...slowed down, and used the other two michigan guys as blockers. The whole thing was amazing, but then at the end...89 forgot what was going on, and just runs straight for the sideline and defender. He could have just stopped, let the blockers go in front of him...and then walked into the endzone...or just pitch it to one of the fastest guys in the Big 10...and watch him score. Could you imagine if Ryan Hamby had the ball like that, and Ginn was right next to him and he didn't pitch it. Part of me is happy Michigan lost, but i'm kind of pissed they didn't score there, because that would have been the MOST AMAZING ending to a football game, EVER...easily! But no...they gotta screw that up. Michigan screws everything up. Way to blow another 9 point lead...they must be proud there...losing to Ohio State and then the bowl game each of the past two years.

Overall it doesn't surprise me that Michigan lost. LLLLLoyd Carr was pretty much saying how stupid the bowl game was, how he didn't want to be there, and how the game meant nothing. What a GREAT attitude to have for your team...so your team goes out there, and plays like they don't care.
Could you ever see Jim Tressel saying he didn't care about a game? We could be playing in the Quaker Oatmeal North Dakota Bowl against Buffalo...and Tressel would still stress the importance of the game.
This is why we won the Alamo Bowl last year easily...because Tressel knows how to approach bowl games, and games in general. He understands what college football is about.
Carr on the other hand is clueless. Carr is good for Ohio State, because he's really going to start hurting Michigan in recruiting, luster, appeal, and he just can't beat Ohio State. So I don't want to see Carr go...but after this, how could you not fire the guy? After saying the bowl didn't matter, that you deserve a new years day bowl, and then not showing up. Michigan's so stupid they won't fire him.
It's a good time to be a Buckeye!!!

Yep. I agree totally. You can also contrast Tressel and Carr by the fact that Tressel is classy even in a loss by praising the other team and saying that tOSU just didn't get it done; Lllloyd, on the other hand, usually only complains about the refs and how unlucky his team was. I am so glad Tressel is our coach.:osu:

I'm thinking of <hr> a four-letter word that rhymes with duck. I want to type that word in big bold capital letters with many exclamation points! Use your imagination. That is how mad I am right now. At everything too. Everything. I wish I was born a woman and doing my nails right now. These games are too emotionally draining.

Odds of me getting arrested tonight = very good.

Sorry for the rant.
WTF?
