Game Thread #2 tOSU at #3 Oregon, Sat. Oct. 12, 7:30 pm ET, NBC

Apparently Jordan Burch was injured in practice. Even Carted off the field.

Was then reported he was knicked up and didn’t return as a precaution. At the very least if he plays you double team him until he taps out. He won’t be 100%.
Shades of the last meeting with them. Their key edge rusher was rumored out (and didn’t play) and it didn’t seem to hurt their defense. Of course, the OSU D was so badly out-schemed that it ultimately determined the outcome.

Very different situation with this year’s D. I like our chances.

Hey man, Bigfoot stays here in the PNW. He is an esteemed guest at the RB07OSU household even though he has a tendency to break prized possessions, he is just big and can't help it. But Phil is welcome to join the Columbus party I suppose.
He sent me a telegraph a fortnight ago. Said he couldn't wait to visit the concrete corn statues. Stop. His bags are packed. He's as good as gone. Ohio is now 'Squatch country.

Another interesting thing is this Oregon defense in the secondary is rather Small. Both Corners are 5’10 180 pounds and the safety is 5’10 200. I think we’ll have a pretty high rate of success running off tackle if our WRs block like they have been blocking this year.

Massive size advantage for our WRs with two guys over 6 foot 3 and then Egbuka has shown he can pancake LBs.

I really don’t see how they slow down this run game.

Outsiders Opinion:

I don't know if this is the game plan, but I feel pretty confident that this is a game where you can tell Will Howard that he's probably not going to have to throw but 12-15 passes. If this game is played in a phone booth, I think it significantly favors Ohio State.

Really pick your spots where you use Ebuka and JS. 3-4 big shots per quarter.

Yeah, the biggest advantage could be the perimeter blocking of our WRs verses their DBs.

You’re right, but what you’re describing has never resembled a Day game plan.

Against Boise State:
Turnovers hurt Oregon
Special Teams bailed Oregon out (2 TD)
Boise State ran the ball on Oregon
Oregon only had one rushing TD (Gabriel)
With the exception of the QB TD run all of Oregon's touchdowns came on big plays.
Oregon was playing catch up in much of the game
The Boise State QB had time to throw much of the game.
Oregon won on a last second field goal.
