#2 The Ohio State University @ Minnesota, Sunday, Dec 15 @ 6:30 PM, BTN

Could be a good thing if we take some hard-learned lessons away from it.

If we don't, Tyrese Maxey might light us up for 50 when we play UK.

Luther needed to be loads better tonight with Duane out. He wasn't. DJ came around late... this was the right game for EJ to play a lot because we needed his length and burst for help D but it wasn't nearly enough when everyone else looked like they woke up 5 minutes prior to the game.

Gophers were finding a way to get Carr on guys he could take to the basket regularly. If Jallow is done for the year, OSU needs someone to emerge as a defensive stopper on the wing to take care of that.
yeah, this was the kind of game where we really needed jallow. andre isn't quick enough to guard small forwards that are fleet of foot. muhammad could've been that guy tonight, but my guess is he was on kalscheur most of the time. and luther is too often a liability on offense when he's struggling to create or handle the ball. with washington, perhaps muhammad would have stuck with carr while washington rotated onto kalscheur.

perhaps the biggest positive for me was liddell's play. had a good stat line and showed tenacity. he's finding his offensive game. still think he plays too timidly. if ej gets outside his head and plays with more abandon, his rebounding numbers will skyrocket. liddell in his final form is a liddell who rebounds outside of his territory. we've yet to see that.

the biggest negative for me was kaleb and it's not close. especially in the first half, he played like he was showcasing for the 5 nba scouts in the gym. forced shots that weren't there and was selfish when he should have been dumping off the ball. also selfish with some jumpers. this should have been the game where he sits on the block like old kaleb and gets their bigs into foul trouble. saw more of that in the second half. that's on the coaches more than it is on kaleb.

finally, anyone who underestimates duane's importance and impact from here on out isn't working with a full deck.
