Minnesota is coming off of being hammered by 20 at Iowa and they are sitting at 4-5. I would be surprised to see OSU lose this game.
CBS Sports already has us at #1 in their rankings...Louisville lost to Texas Tech tonight at MSG. Buckeyes could be playing for #1 in the next release of both polls.
Minnesota's two big guns from last year, Murphy and Coffey, are both gone. This is a Gopher team that I dont think will even make the NIT. It would be very bad for OSU to lose this game, and I find it quite unlikely because of the Gopher talent losses, and the very culture of how these teams play and compete is clearly better at OSU than Minnesota.I agree that we should win, I don't know that I would be "surprised" if we lost. College basketball is wonky. Minny's losses all come to teams who are faring well this season so far. Minnesota's guards were uncharacteristically, almost impossibly bad at Iowa, combining for something like 3-29 from the floor. Maybe at home against a Top 5 opponent they come out hot. Oturu is a really good player and his match-up with Kaleb is going to be very interesting, he's probably the best two-way big we've faced yet this season.
We play like we have the past couple games, yes, we should definitely win, I just hope this long break between games doesn't knock us off rhythm. College basketball scheduling seems to get weirder and more uneven every season.
this matchup is about the only thing that should be of any interest what we play those guys. They looked terrible against Iowa the other night. Maybe I should be concerned about the raised floor also but that is about it.Oturu is a really good player and his match-up with Kaleb is going to be very interesting, he's probably the best two-way big we've faced yet this season.
