Bad calls(even from the booth) happen.

Nationally those who are whining are getting called out as whiners. Let's not do that. It's not a good look. It's never a good look to be complaining about officiating. It just isn't.

Yes, it sucked. Yes, I would have kept it a fumble. But bad calls are part of the game. We lost. It sucks. There is always next year. Let's look to that and stop
whining.

We got beat. And the team that beat us is likely about to take a beating from LSU a good bit worse than the one they gave us.

It'd be a lot easier to accept if:
  1. The Big 10 hadn't been left out of the 2018 and 2017 playoffs
  2. Ohio State hadn't been moved to the #2 seed
  3. UGA wasn't ranked #5 over us last year with (2) losses
  4. The College Football Playoff Chairman didn't admit they considered putting Georgia in over Oklahoma this year (yes he said that)
  5. And lastly, the call(s) on the field that didn't have conclusive evidence to overturn, stayed with the ref on the fields judgement

I think a little bit of salt combined with a lot of skepticism is just fine right now. The system as currently constructed is not fair and without a doubt tweaks could be made to adjust it. In fact, if you wanted to snuff out 75% of the griping in Buckeye-land, simply put a rule in around which conference officials can be used. If Pac 12 or Big 12 officials were responsible for the clown-show we witnessed Saturday, I promise, the banging on the table would be a lot more subdued.

BS. Ohio State did not get a beating. Quite the reverse. It is enough of this systematic bias by a CFP owned by ESPiN in favor of teams from leagues with which they are partnering. It is time for the NCAA to take ownership of the NCAA championship. The bad calls to which you refer in part threw that game.

It would also be one thing if it was just tOSU fans calling out the BS. However, this is not the case. There have been a number of sports jocks (some on ESPN), professional referees, and players calling out the BS.

From the CBS article https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...should-have-stood-in-ohio-state-clemson-game/ , "The NCAA rulebook defines a catch as maintaining "control of the ball long enough to enable [a player] to perform an act common to the game … long enough to pitch or hand the ball, advance it, avoid or ward off an opponent." "

The rules "expert" working with Fowler and Herbstreet said it was not a catch because he did not make a football move. But the rule states the player only needs time with complete control to make a football move. That "expert" apparently needs stronger reading comprehension skills. Wtf. We could even disregard the rule book and simply use logic. He took four steps. Plenty of time to "make a football move."

"Williamson said the play was reviewed not only by Hodges in the replay booth but at the SEC "video center" in Birmingham, Alabama."

Something about that location makes it even clearer.
