Well for 1 you think McRoberts belongs in the same gym as Hansbrough :p

Give McRoberts the same # of touches as Hansbrough and you would see what I'm talking about...
McRoberts wasn't rated as the #3 player in the country last year as a fluke... You say he is helped by Williams and Redick, but he is very much hurt by them as well. He isn't asked to be the guy like Hansbrough is. When Josh is asked to be, I am more than confident that he will step up and show you.

... That's why EVERYBODY has shut down JJ this year, huh? The only guys that give JJ trouble defensively are the bigger, long-armed guys. Even then, he still gets his points.
You're welcome to feel that way about tOSU beating Duke, but don't make blind blanket statements.

True that it does take a certain type of player to guard JJ Redick. And that type of player is someone with the speed and quickness to keep up with him on the back screens. The type of player is someone with great stamina to do it all game. That type of player is someone who doesn't react to quickly to pump fakes and plays good on-ball defense.

That player I just described is Je'kel Foster. Can't wait if we play Duke in the tourney to see how frustrated JJ would be.

oooooooooooooooook then.

I watched a full game between the 2, without looking at stats, and came away much more impressed with Hansbrough. Granted I wasn't looking at what they would be like next year.....
You're entitled to your opinion... I just don't see it from watching the same game as you did last night...

Plain and simple... You are seeing the full Tyler Hansbrough. You are not seeing the full Josh McRoberts because of who else he has on his team. That has been my point all along. So you may be more impressed with Hansbrough at this time, but just remember that you aren't seeing everything that McRoberts has, because of Williams and Redick.

I think both Hansborough and McRoberts were impressive yesterday. IMO McRoberts is a lot more free to roam with more talent surrounding him. This does not diminish his talent, I merely think that he receives less attention defensively and is setup better by his teammates.

One thing that really impressed me about Hansborough was his knack for coming up with offensive rebounds in traffic. There were a handful of times where he jumped into a massive mess of bodies and some how came away with the ball, and managed to maintain control afterwards (often resulting in a followup shot).

I would not put down either one, both are fine talents.

I like Je'Kel. He is a very very nice player. I respect what he can do very much, but the only guy that gave JJ a lot of trouble when guarding him this year was Rodney Carney because of his length. Georgetown also gave him trouble when they put their 6-7 SF on him. It's the length that gives JJ problems because it's harder to get you jumper off over taller players. He's been guarded by plenty of quicker, more athletic players this year (Daniel Gibson for one) and hasn't had the problems in those games.

Hansbrough is a helluva rebounder. He probably is a better rebounder than Josh is. But Josh is the better passer, defender, and has a much more versatile and explosive offensive repertoire.

No offense, but Daniel Gibson doesn't focus half as much on defense as Foster does. I guess maybe I should have given the caveat that not only does it take that kind of player, but that player has to be willing to utilize those capabilities.
