Redick is POY in the country hands down. That guy is a flat out stud. Duke would be lost without him this year.
hands down? The rest of the starting lineup were national AA's in HS (Dockery, Williams, Paulus, McRoberts).

Morrison has been just as impressive IMO, with much less help. Redick is impressive, no doubt, but definitely not a runaway favorite by any means.

Morrison had to be taken out on defense last night because he couldn't guard someone from St. Mary's. Doesn't sound like POY to me. JJ does have a good supporting cast, but he does what he does night in and night out. Everyone knows it's coming, and he still gets it done. He plays every minute, contributes at both ends, and steps up in the clutch. As I said HANDS DOWN.

I already conceded that you had a point (clearly their competition does not stack up), but couldn't resist the urge to rip on mighty wake and their woes...

I was just adding them for good posture ... I enjoy seeing Wake suffer as well...
BTW... I think Duke loses at Maryland on Saturday... They usually have games get closer and closer, lose one, then wake up before the ACC tourney...

Redick’s 35 points help Blue Devils top Tar Heels

Wednesday, February 08, 2006

ASSOCIATED PRESS

No. 2 Duke 87, No. 23 North Carolina 83 — J.J. Redick scored 22 of his 35 points in the second half, freshman Josh McRoberts added a season-high 17 points and Duke held off North Carolina in an Atlantic Coast Conference game in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Redick was 12 of 22 from the field — including five three-pointers — and set a career high with four steals. Three of the steals led to breakaway layups.

With Duke (22-1, 10-0) clinging to a one-point lead, Redick swished a three-pointer over Wes Miller to increase the margin with 1:54 remaining. He added another three with the shot clock winding down to make it a sevenpoint lead, and despite a furious rally by the Tar Heels (14-6, 5-4), the Blue Devils picked up their 16 th victory in the past 19 games in this Tobacco Road rivalry. Reyshawn Terry had 17 points for North Carolina and Tyler Hansbrough had 14.
