Isn't Lazard like the 50th ranked tackle?

Ranked 40th by Rivals.

Ranked 45th by 24/7.

Ranked 46th by Scout.

So to answer your question directly, no.

However, keep in mind the OSU staff chose him as one of roughly 12-14 offensive tackles in the entire country worthy of an offer during the spring of their junior year (Montelus, Johnson, James, Tunsil, Raulerson, Pocic, Lisle, McGovern, Tuley-Tillman, Gray, Kugler, Fox and Bivin). Couple that with the fact that there is not widely available film on the major recruiting service websites and the fact he has recently picked up offers from Boston College, Florida, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Pitt, South Carolina, South Florida, Virginia, West Virginia and others (according to his Rivals profile) and I am fine with the staff accepting his verbal commitment. Eagerly awaiting his film.

The one thing I find interesting is that Rutgers hasn't offered. I'm not insinuating anything, but considering Lazard is from NJ it strikes me as interesting.

Agreed. I would agree it is interesting, not alarming. Also left PSU without an offer. Different strokes for different folks.

Hasn't been a camp/combine attendee I'm told. My ND buddy said he camped there last summer, so Warrinner has likely seen him and approved.

And for those wondering why ND hasn't offered, that was one of the reasons Warrinner left. He wanted the ability to offer the O-Lineman he liked and Kelly wouldn't have it...

I sense he won't sign with WV

This doesn't make any sense. Wasn't this kid going around naming Ohio State as his leader not too long ago?

How do you go from Ohio State as your leader to committing to ..... West Virginia?

Pure guessing, but Urban probably asked him to wait. If that's the case, makes sense for him to commit now to WVU.

Guess he found something there he hadn't seen elsewhere, hopefully it was the right decision. Good luck to Mr. Lazard.

Off-topic; I don't know if any of you guys have been to WVU on a weekend but it puts the party in party school. Head and shoulders.

Oh, I understand, and I'm not bashing his decision .. was just a bit weird, that's all.

I follow OSU recruiting, cause I have friends who are Buckeyes ... and I thought this was a done deal.
