'11 IN DT Kris Harley (Virginia Tech Signee)

What do we feel his collegiate playing weight will be?

He's a little light, can his frame handle 25 - 35 pounds?

He is an excellent talent and moves really well, great first step.

What are we waiting for, we are in serious need at the DT spot?

I think his frame will hold between 285-300, which would suffice at DT. I agree, I think Harley is the best DT we have on our prospect board but there are (seemingly) so many talented big guys like Mangiro, Tommy Brown, Kevin Williams, etc. and it is still early. We may see an offer before camp but I have a feeling the staff wants to see these guys in person. If I had to guess though, I think Harley is the only one of that group that could get offered earlier. Regardless, Harley likes OSU alot and as long as we're in contact, we'll be okay.

Scout $ - More Offers for Harley and Holts

2/10

By Trieu...written offer from Southern Cal.

Article says a "written offer from Ed Orgeron". This is why some schools send out 75-90 scholarships. They can back out claiming the head coach is the final say or the recruit is "slow played". This tactic is called an early interest sniff test. OSU typically evaluates in April and May after spring ball. Camp helps them determine new offers. I'm sure our strategy is the same. Focus on a smaller number.
