'11 FL WR Phil Dorsett (Miami Signee)

Scout $

5/13

Video by The Bank....Named Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State & Florida as some of his offers. Says distance will not be a factor. Plans on visiting North Carolina & Ohio State unofficially over the summer. Was questioned about Miami being his favorite, but said that has changed. Says he will probably make a decision after his official visits, but says if he feels right committing on an unofficial visit, he won't be afraid to pull the trigger. Would like to major in either exercise science of communications.

I'm just wondering, what exactly is excercise science?
This kid would be a pleasent surprise to our class if we could snag him. But I'm wondering if he commits, which WR gets left out of the class, since I was assuming we were only trying to get 2 WRs.

Not only is Chris Carter on the St. Thomas Aquinas staff, but the staff is very pro Buckeye. They like the way OSU recruits being very selective and not the shot gun blasts of some schools. He is going to be tough to pull out of the South but we have a shot.

Scout $ - Dorsett Down To Final Five

6/6

By The Bank.....Final five has been cut to Florida, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State & North Carolina (no particular order or favorite). Talks about his interest in each program. Says he was impressed with the commitment of Braxton Miller to the Buckeyes. Plans on visiting Ohio State, North Carolina and possibly Florida over the next few weeks. Plans on possibly making a decision after those visits, and definitely will make one before his senior season.

Although I think UNC has the best shot to land him, I like where we sit with him. I think it comes down to us and UNC, hopefully his visit here is enough to push us up to the top. If not, then it wasn't meant to be and both parties are happy.

Miami Phillip Dorsett:St. Thomas Aquinas WR Phillip Dorsett commits to Miami - OrlandoSentinel.com
Just like his teammate said on Wednesday night, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Phillip Dorsett committed to the University of Miami on Saturday. Teammate Rashad Greene said Thursday that Dorsett was going to commit to the U.

"When I went on my visits and met all the coaches I just fell in love with them," Dorsett said. "I'm really excited. It's a dream come true. I've always been a big Miami fan. I've been to a lot of games and stuff."

His parents were certainly pleased to hear he was staying close to home.

"At first they were saying don't rule out the out-of-state schools, but once I committed to Miami they saw it as a blessing and they really want me to just go for it now."
