Also from Treasure Coast in the next recruiting cycle, look out for defensive back Lamarcus Brutus. He was not at the combine on Saturday, but his coaches and teammates sang the praises of the defensive back, who was an All-Area selection last season. North Carolina is showing early attention.

Talking to some guys in Florida who know their stuff, they expect these two guys (Brutus and Smith) to be going to school together and they are expected to leave state. The depth chart isn't very favorable for them to stay in-state, especially with the usual abundance of in-state talent coming up for this class that are ranked ahead of these guys (and the fact that '10 is pretty stacked with DB's).

I asked which schools seemed to have a good shot and they said it appears everyone is pretty equal but that if they had to mention some it would be LSU and Ohio State. The fact that they appear to be headed out of state would seem to be a nice boost, and with their size they seem to be great fits for us.

Honestly, are you pulling our leg? That's crazy!

When it comes to Brutus, I never kid

LSU I believe already offered both and did so early, so that might have been a reason for OSU to push early as well since it seems Les is going after these two pretty hard as a tandem and OSU knows they can't sit back. So far, we're in a nice spot and have their attention, now we just build on that and hopefully that starts Saturday :oh:
