'10 OH SG Cameron Wright (Pitt Verbal)

Wright is viewed as having the "higher ceiling" if you will......Kellogg is a good prospect but Wright is early in his development and has more of an upside in my opinion. Not taking any thing away from Kellogg...just comparing to good prospects. :wink2:

Couldn't of put it any better myself, these are my feelings as well...

From what I've seen, Benedictine lost to St. Vincent St. Mary 27-24.

I'm curious to see which team initiated the slow down offense. I suspect it may have been STVM to slow down Wright.

Edit: False report. That was halftime. Final was STVM 63 Benedictine 50

Wright's really has not been scoring that much against pretty weak competition. I realize that is only a sophomore and it will be interesting to watch his development over the next two years. He has the size and frame to develop into a good player but his scoring is down this year and Benedictine does not play a heavy basketball schedule.

he really doesn't care about scoring he wants a state championship. just wait for the tournament to start you will definitely see scoring. scoring may be down but what about the other areas as far as averaging almost 8 rebounds and 6 assists 4 steals 2 blks in the past 6 games. he doesn't have to score to take control of a game. Cameron hurts a team in so many ways its rediculous when you watch him play. Teams come with game plans to shut him down scoring wise but they don't know that just opens pandoras box and he just goes ballistic in the other aspects of offense and defense. thats what makes him different than any other player. by all means which one of the other kids has a better ALL AROUND GAME? I would like to know really. Because I don't see anyone else playing four positions. anybody can score and average 25 and 30 a night. but everybody can't be a floor General. Everybody doesn't command attention on the floor so that your TEAMMATES can get easy looks. IMO there is only one other ALL AROUND PLAYER IN HIS CLASS IN THE COUNTRY AND THAT'S TREY ZEIGLER FROM MICHIGAN. and what schedule are you looking at? that schedule is not weak at all. don't worry I'm not angry or anything not at all. just look at the whole picture not the half.

Hey morecowbell thanks for the updates on Cameron...

I was wondering what you were thinking about Benedictine's chances of getting to state now that regular season is winding down...

I know before the season you thought they had a solid chance to make it.

I was going to let you go but that statement is off the charts. I think we have a kid in Columbus named Sullinger who is a pretty good player but let's just let it go for now. I also appreciate your updates.

hey Jared is my man and Cameron and Jared are tight like jeans from the 80's but I'm talkin about a player that can do it all a la Magic Johnson/Penny Hardaway(in Orlando)/ Tracy McGrady/Jason Kidd thats all. someone that can facilitate an offense. But yes Big J is the man. we're cool litlBuck no harm no foul.

And I still do. Cameron has really taken the leadership reigns on this team. Although he hasn't scored as much in the past few games, he has really stepped up the other aspects of his game steals, rebounds, blocks, and especially his assists(most of them going to the other sophomore phenom 6'0 pg Derek Jackson who's averaging 23pts and 5.5 assists himself in the past 5 games). The stronger teams such as Warrensville hts and JFK have done all they can to avoid being in the same bracket as Benedictine. I wouldn't want to play them either. Benedictine is on a roll. The biggest threat that Benny has in their bracket is a team they already beat last week, Kenston (12-4). Cameron was 3 steals away from a triple double.(he's almost avg a triple double the past 3 games). So yes there chances of making States is very good because they are Battle tested and have lost to some ranked teams nationally and statewide. it won't be easy but they have a great chance. Look for Cameron to really step up the next 10 games. YES I SAID TEN BECAUSE THEY ARE GONNA WIN STATES!! I'm never wrong when it comes to these things. just look at my track record I'm 1-0. remember I told you all on this site OSU was looking at Cam Heavy and no one knew who he was and no one believed me. But you know his name now soooooo.....ITS SHOWTIME PEOPLE.....GET YOUR POPCORN READY!!!!!LMAO

There are some tough teams out there in DII, but I would love for Benedictine, Canal Winchester, and Libbey to be 3 of the teams that make it to state...

I hope you are right on Benedictine, I would really like to see Wright play live and the only chance would be at the Schott for state...

Also great to hear that he is taking a leadership role...

I believe Bennies would play St. Vincent St. Mary in regionals. Wouldn't count on them getting past them... :)

you obviously didn't see the first game. SVSM was outplayed by Benedictine the whole game. costly turnovers and missed rebounds at the end cost Benny the game. I will put my money on Benedictine in the rematch.
